Efforts are being made to brainwash teachers and students toward primate research. As a teacher, I am offended. Please see details below:
Symposium on Nonhuman Primate Models for HIV/AIDS
The Oregon National Primate Research Center will host the 23rd Annual Symposium - Nonhuman Primate Models for HIV/AIDS in Portland, Oregon from September 21-24, 2005. In conjunction with the meeting, and in collaboration with the Northwest Association for Biomedical Research, the ONPRC will host a workshop that will focus on the HIV/AIDS epidemic from historical, world social impact, and biological points of view.
Teachers representing the disciplines of history, social studies, biology, and human health in middle and high schools are invited to attend this workshop. Although participants of this session will not attend other sessions of the symposium, they will have an opportunity to learn about the latest in AIDS research in nonhuman primates and to meet with researchers in the field during the course of the workshop and at the opening reception of the symposium.
