Woman Abuses Boyfriend gets 6 Years

A woman convicted of pouring hot cooking oil on her boyfriend's face has been sentenced to nearly six years in prison.
Yeah right it's always men abusing women! Take that! Here's a case of a seriously nasty woman getting 6 years for basically turning this guy into the elephantman face:

From Koin website:

Angel Morris, 20, poured the oil on Kipi Blidi's face in May 2004 after he'd gone to bed following an argument in their Eugene apartment.

Lane County District Attorney Valeri Love says Blidi may need four more surgeries on the disfiguring scars on his face and neck.

Morris is the sister of Seattle Seahawks running back Maurice Morris. Angel Morris was ordered to pay about $32,000 in restitution for Blidi's treatments.

A jury last month deliberated 90 minutes before finding her guilty of second-degree assault. Morris said nothing Tuesday when asked by the judge if she wished to comment before being sentenced.

Oh yeh, like women beating up men is SOOoooo common. Like, right. Good thing the corporate media is helping you with your issues about violence against women. If they didn't report this incident (instead of all the others regarding male violence against women every day), then you would have to actually face the fact that violence against women is a real issue. But what, with an anecdote like this, you can just bury your head back in your ass where it was.

She stated that he was pulling on her arms after their argument and she had a sholder injury - she said it wasn't the first time he had been rough with her. Do you know how many women are in prison for using a weapon in self defense? They killed their rapist or assaulter, who is often their husband or boyfriend. If you want to know another side of the story, read what Andre Dworkin wrote about the Nicole Brown Simpson case - things the media will never tell you. Rape used to be a felony with a capital 'F'. It isn't anymore, and we all know how rape victims are treated in court. Here in the Eugene/Springfiel area, one out of three women has been a victim of domestic violence. And these are only reported numbers - the actual figures are probably much higher. This country hates women: the law rarely works to protect us against our assailants, we are the poorest members of this country and welfare was scratched under Clinton, we have no free daycare (only 1 of 5 countries in the world w/o it), and very little maternity leave compared to most other countries. We have the children, raise them, work 2 and three jobs and what do we get for it? Punished.

Oh Yeh is correct. Corporate media loves the bizarre and novel. So it ignores the staggering numbers of women whom men beat, rape and kill every year in favor of this particular story. Grow some skepticism, antique, and tell men to take responsibility for their violent acts instead of acting like "women do it, too" is anything but a useless and pathetic comeback.
