Fox News Viewership Drops by Half in 6 Months

"The reason for Fox News' fall in viewership is not clear" the article says. Not clear to who, the Amish?? I'm amazed that someone can even ask this question with a straight face.

Fox news is known worldwise as the absolute worst news there is, openly lying to people, heavily censored in it's content, and completely propagandic. If the millitary says something is true, then Fox news reports it as fact...why bother to investigate, the man with the stripes says it's true so it must be. If other facts contradict the statement, then they are silenced or discredited. ALL of them...you'd be hard pressed to find any exceptions in their transcripts.

Maybe the viewers are just sick of having the news pre-filtered to only what the administration wants people to hear. The other news in USA does it too, but they at least pretend to be unbiased and try to maintain an illusion of reporting and investigating. Fox news has done away with that pretense and are pretty blatent about their allegiances and are more than willing to ignore any story the president does not like. The giant flag they electronically wave pretty much sums up who they think is correct at all times.

So some ask why has viewship dropped? I'll clarify for those who can't seem to get this through their heads...it is not watched because it does not provide news. It provides crap, straight from the president's mouth, as absolute gospel and refuses to even try and deliver a balanced view.

Maybe after all this time people just might be sick of being lied to??? Can we be so hopeful???

What great news! I just saw the movie _Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism_ a couple days ago, and it seems that no matter how bad you think Fox News is, the more you see of it the more you'll realize they're even WORSE than you thought!!!

I am so happy they're viewership has dropped. People like O'Reilly get even more egotistical than usual when they feel like "everybody" is watching their show (O'Reilly has made that claim before--"everybody watches this show", or something equally outrageous to that paraphrase).

I'm going to go email various Fox addresses & taunt/insult them. Yay!

If the target group is 25 to 54 years of age, somewhere in between we get tired of hearing constant, hysterical, opinionated shouting that passes as news. If I want to hear monologues of tailored viepoints that are suppossedly informative, I just listen to the politicians.

nobody that watches fox can claim they know anything exceptt what fox news wants you to know. especially when you have proof they openly lie and went to court(florida of course) specifically so they could get a judge to tell them it was ok. two journalists refused to lie, so they were fired. You have to wonder why the other "news" networks didn't rake them over the coals like they did with newsweek...I wonder if it's because of this:

When people eventually hear the truth no matter how late in the piece they tend to never believe that source again. The pitiful theatrics of FAUX News, an oxymoron in itself, must say something about a new awakening. O'Reilly has the panache of a slug and the intelligence of a Union organizer bullying people to his way of thinking. A clown in a Ring controlled by Rupert and all entertainment. Tell them what they want to hear and call it entertainment!!!

I hope the reason for the decline is that the public is starting to see through the propoganda masking as a so called news channel. It's sad that I can't even sit through 30 seconds of watching fox news. I try, just to reaffirm how disgustingly biased that channel is, but after 30 seconds, blood boils, blank stare of disbelief kicks in, loose all faith in the human race hits all time high and then I thank the Gods for all those other news options as I hit the channel changer on the remote; NBC, CBS, and ABC..............no wait they are corporate shills..........okay, how about CNN............strike 2...........MSNBC..........with Scarborough Country on it............Never mind........think I'll just stick with Unbiased PBS and avoid the news.........oh wait, they're under the thumb of their neocon masters as well. Ehhh, now what was my point; I forgot. Do we actually possess a non-spineless ass kissing media channel that doesn't buckle when the Bush Administration snaps its fingers? Think I'll just go watch the X-Files. At least that's more believable than the news coverage.

If you look at the ratings success of Air America on Clear Channel, it is clear that despite the chest-beating of conservatives, Democrats/Progressives/Libertarians/Independents/Goldwater-Conservatives are at least 50% of the population and probably more like 70%. Popular, honest TV journalists/hosts like Peter Arnett, Bill Maher, Charles Grodin, etc. were tossed aside. O'Reilly, Hannity, etc., eventually just become noise like the people we pass on the sidewalks everyday screaming "repent!" This is laissez-faire... The market is deciding.

One of the most important aspects of a reporter or reporting news service(and responsibility) is to bring people the truth. Not conviluted nonsense. If i want lies or nonsense. I'l listen to the politicians on C-Span. Fox news is hearing the voice of the people. Better listen up everyone else as well, out there in NEWS UNREALITY Land! We are tired of being lied to. And at the cost at which we must bare those lies as well.

I don't know the reasons for the drop in readership (or viewership, or whatever).

But, I can tell you that this viewer and his family became totally disenchanged with distorted, pro Bush, pro Israel, anti Arab Fox news channel programming. (I won't comment about Maniac O'Reilly for fear of losing it before I finish this). At the time, we were subscribed to Charter Cable. When Charter disregarded my request to have the Fox News channel dropped (together with a reduction in the amount of my monthly money flowing to Rupert Murdoch via Charter), I cancelled our subscription with Charter and subscribed to satellite. Now, no irritating Fox News, and no money to Murdoch news from this household. Not now or in the future.

More people in this country need to do things like that.

Many have "tuned out" to mainstream news with their retoric echoing that of the politicians and their soundbites that pass for news. I would suggest that people are finally waking up and seeking out other sources for news such as Alex Jones' prisonplanet.com and infowars.com. The Guardian (UK) is also an excellent source for news that is not fit for propogandizing in the US. For updates on the war in Iraq, see Dhar Jamail's dahrjamailiraq.com presents an unbiased report of the war.

Thank God that people are starting to smell the stink that is rising out of this Nation.

I happened to notice that all these news intervirws have supposed question and answer sessions,with both parties reading their questions and answers.Look closely at their eyes,and notice when they stutter like dubya.He stutters from listening to what to say through a hearing aid,they are flat reading their scripts.WHO is the AUTHOR fpr both respondents?Right out of the protocols of the elders of zion.It.s treason!

So, Fox Snooze is falling. And you thought there was no justice in the world. This is the best news I have heard in a long time. I hope they lose all but the most lame-brained of there viewership. Maybe the internet is finally having an effect on the way the public perceive their government and it's servile puppy dog media. It is so bad that I cannot even watch television news without screaming at the screen. Fox Snooze is only the most blatent of the culprits. At least they come right out and say-more or less- that they are a mouthpiece for the military industrial complex. Maybe we will see the glorious day in which every single person in America turns their back on the "news media" that has so consistently lied to them. If they don't clean up their act you can count on it.

Frankly, I don't know why anyone EVER bothered to watch news in the first place.5 words-"boring"and "who gives a damn".Before 9/11 I watched the news maybe in total 1 hour my entire life(30 years at the time) During the war, was the most I every watch it. And that was maybe a few hour for a week. Untill my head started to cringe everytime I heard the words "shock", & "aww". The only thing Shocking was how many times they used those phrases and then I would say Awwww god, not again!

In anycase. Our governments and societies(meaning, the world we live in,not the people in them) are a freaking joke!!!

How about I be in charge of a country or two for a few days. Then someone else can be in charge of those countries for a few days. I don't think the world would be any worse off for it. Actually, why even have a government at all? Cave-men din't have one, animals don't have one, why the heck do we!

Too much the same, especially "On the Record." She repeats and repeats. O'Reilly seldom allows anyone to finish a sentence. Some of the replacements on Hannity and Coombs are terrible. The voice of that woman who is replacing Coombs this week grates on my eardrums. Whenever she is on any program I turn her off. I cannot stand to listen to her voice.
