Feral go_feral@excite.com

I knew they wern't great but- that list is HUGE!

What say we all mobilize and do a huge publication campaign. I think it'd be swell. and send postcards to all their constituents with the crimes.. News paper ads targeted ad the communities served by those cons. The works.

If done properly national media could easily pick it up and a real shit storm would ensue. Whoo hoo!

Let's git 'er done!!

Money / Properly submitted donations from press houses. All well coordinated with diffrent regional communities would need to happen.

Who's with me? It would rock.. really undermine the neocons. I mean, Clinton just got some and look what they did to him.

Are we really gonna miss out on this field day? Let's not be the unorganized chumps the left is accused of so often being. please?

If you would like to coordinate please email me at  go_feral@excite.com w/ the yes mam collective.
'n maybe we could take it from there.

incomplete list? 22.May.2005 16:25

What about Spokane's own mayor Jim West? Surely he should be included as well. I think there are a few others missing as well.

We need to out these people for what they truly are. True Christians should recoil with horror.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if the Demcrats' records are any better?

this is a good list - but first, a few requests 22.May.2005 17:02

please

1. can you provide specific

* locations
* jurisdictions (local/county/state/federal)
* offices held, and
* dates of incidents & convictions

for some of the lesser known names above?

2. was this compilation obtained from some where else (on the internet)? if so please provide the reference citation / link / URL

concerned

it seems that we're just picking at people's past, rather than their issues. Sure, there's a connection between the two, particularly in this situation, but some of this seems to me like another "look! scary republican!" response with nothing constructive, and somewhat implied support for the democratic party.
Also, in glancing at that link, I find it somewhat disturbing that this description is used to discredit someone:
"Republican Party Chairman Sam Walls, who is married, was urged to drop his candidacy for Congress when it was found he likes to dress up in women's clothing"

to "concerned" - 22.May.2005 17:54

please

there was no "implied support for the democratic party"

or even a mention of them at all -

until you brought it up in your post.

(and as you well - or ought to - know, most readers of Portland IMC have little-if-equal love for either 'side' of our One-Party Corporate State.)

as to the home page-linked description (not reposted in text above on Portland IMC) you find "somewhat disturbing" -

the real issue being raised here is that a primary campaign element of the current Republican party - and also a primary source of their public ideological rhetoric and finger-pointing - is their stance on "Family Values". when the card-carrying Apparatchniks listed above are convicted as such, it becomes supreme hypocrisy.

(and no-one here has yet mentioned Jeff 'Gannon' Guckert, or the Reagan/Bush-era White House right-wing pedophile call boy scandal . . .)

ken starr should be given at least 40 million dollars each to investigate. The mainstream media should gush and fawn about each and every one of them. I mean, it's not like the mainstream media should treat the sexual pecadillos of fucking elephants any differently from fucking asses.
Republicans should not have sex, expecially for reproductive purposes. I want the kind of coverage monica and oj and tonya got to make sure the leadership is pure.

The Bully Pulpit 22.May.2005 20:42

If anyone caught Gov. Howard Dean on Tim Russert this morning then you would have heard him mention the Republican hypocrites who tend to lecture when they have no place to. There might be a number of Democrats who have serious mental problems and a proclivity toward pedophilia, but then the Democrats aren't preaching about their family values as though they have a corner on the market.

And I challenge anyone to find the Democratic Pedophiles. Bring it on.

What about goldschmit 22.May.2005 22:09

half the list

I bet demos are not pure too. Was not goldschmit a winner for your list. Or the catholic church leaders too.

I guess your point of the holyer than thou Republican image is tarnished by sexual scandle. Apparently mass murder which have been sponsored by both parties is beyond reproach.

for "half the list" RE: goldschmit [sic] 22.May.2005 22:47

please

whatever goldschmit [sic] is (he was a Democrat, right?) -

he didn't build his, or his party's political career on 'Family Values' ideology/rhetoric.

as already mentioned above by __two different__ comments - it's about the Republicans "cornering the market" and taking the 'Moral Compass' as the Das Partei of 'Family Values' - and Portland IMC readers are already overly familiar that the One-Party Corporate State is responsible for Iraq invasion & genocide, USA Patriot Act, Help America Implement Electronic Voting Machines Act, etc. (not 'divided' along 'party lines').

and if you're so concerned about what 'the other party' dirty laundry list is, then publish your very own (or repost a referenced one from somewhere else on the internet) "half the list" comparable to the one above.

for "half the list" RE: 'catholic church leaders' 22.May.2005 23:01

please

if you check statistics for the 2004 election,

you'll find that a huge boost in support for Bush/Cheney - even compared to the bloc in 2000 - came specifically from Catholic Church leaders and members, not least due to a last-minute car-parking-lot Bush/Cheney flyering campaign at Catholic churches nationwide.

if you were somehow trying to put across some kind of 1950s/1960s image of the American Catholic community as predominantly 'liberal' by your comment, "half the list" it's sadly outdated and irrelevant. Core Catholic churchgoers in America today are predominantly conservative, middle-upper income, and reliably classed - as a voting bloc, anyway - as part of the Christian Right.

(forgot about the new pope already, eh "half the list"?)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Christian Right's Humble Servant

By Max Blumenthal, AlterNet. Posted November 15, 2004.

Rightist evangelicals weren't the only ones determined to re-elect Bush, as the Catholic right joined the shadow campaign with equal enthusiasm. To the Catholic right, the former altar boy, John Kerry, was a "cafeteria Catholic" whose liberal social politics rendered him a heretic. So to ensure none of their flock strayed to Kerry's side, twelve bishops declared that voting for Kerry was a "grave, mortal sin." Bishop Michael Sheridan issued a pastoral letter to the 125,000 Catholics of Colorado Springs, Colorado calling the presidential election "critical" and stating that anyone who votes for a pro-choice, pro-gay civil union candidate like Kerry "ipso facto place[s] themselves outside full communion with the Church and so jeopardize their salvation." In other words, vote for Kerry, go to hell.

Grassroots right-wing Catholic activists were just as fired up about sinking Kerry's hopes as their bishops were. Earlier this year, two Northern Virginia Catholic activists, State Sen. Thomas Cucinelli and Terry Wear, approached the Republican National Committee's deputy Catholic outreach director, Martin Gillespie (brother of RNC president, Ed), about sparking a grassroots effort to increase Catholic turnout for Bush. Gillespie promptly hired dozens of field workers to canvass swing states for Catholic votes. Under Cucinelli's direction in Ohio, the RNC's field workers inundated parking lots outside Catholic churches with pro-Bush fliers the Sunday before election day. According to the Washington Times, Cucinelli's cadres unloaded 5 million fliers that day alone.

Though the Catholic shadow campaign was spearheaded by right-wing activists and Republican party operatives, it targeted so-called "swing" Catholics who are socially conservative but not necessarily Republican. As Leonard Leo, the RNC's Catholic outreach chairman, told the National Catholic Reporter, "Swing Catholics and faithful Catholics are often in accord on a number of the "culture of life" issues and I suspect that it is this combination of voters which will be pivotal in deciding who controls the Catholic vote in this election."

typical creepy christians 23.May.2005 00:24

I'm sure an equally large list could be compiled of democrats. Especially if the list was compiled in an equally misleading fashion. The list seemed to try to make the people on it more important sounding than they probably ever were. The list also seems to try to imply guilt with generous usage of words like, "charged" and "allegedly". There's also a couple of pretty far out statements on the list.

For example,

"Republican candidate" - candidate for what hall monitor?

"Republican activist John Butler was charged"

"Republican anti-abortion activist John Allen Burt was charged"

"Republican benefactor of conservative Christian groups, Richard A. Dasen Sr., was charged" ... "has allegedly told police that over the past decade he paid more than $1 million to have sex with a large number of young women." ( $8000+ a month on prostitutes? I'm skeptical. )

"Republican businessman Jon Grunseth withdrew his candidacy for Minnesota governor after allegations"

"Republican politician Andrew Buhr was charged"

blah blah

Then there are these laughable additions presented as if they were undeniably facts:

* Republican activist Lawrence E. King, Jr. organized child sex parties at the White House during the 1980s.

* Republican lobbyist Craig J. Spence organized child sex parties at the White House during the 1980s.

Even if all the people on this list were are 100% verified child molesters, which clearly they are not. It wouldn't even represent 1/100th of 1% of republicans in this country.

I'd be willing to bet that the Republicans would rather we all fuss and moan over something like this than what they and the Democrats are doing to our country. Running around screaming "Child Molester!" reminds me much of running around screaming "Terrorist!". People seem to hate Bush so much that they'll grasp on to anything to fuel thier hatred.

"nik" - 23.May.2005 01:25

please

so what's your point?

your rambling comment is contentless, meaningless and vacuous. you're the one making irrational, unsubstantiated allegations and intimating 'hysteria' (where on earth was anyone "running around screaming "Child Molester"" until you stated it verbatim above??). if you can conclusively DISprove with specific references and evidence that the Republicans above did what's stated then ____do it____, don't just rant about it.

RE: child sex parties at the 1980s White House, Spence & King:

 http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2005/04/315477.shtml

On June 29, 1989, the Washington Times, shook the Bush White House to its very roots with the front page headline "Call Boys Took Midnight Tour of White House.'' The paper reported, ``A homosexual prostitution ring is under investigation by federal and District authorities and includes among its clients key officials of the Reagan and Bush administrations, military officers, congressional aides and U.S. and foreign businessmen with close ties to Washington's political elite.''

At the center of the scandal was Craig Spence, a Republican powerbroker known for his lavish ``power cocktail'' parties. Among the rumors circulating was a rumor indicating that over 200 of Washington's elite had used the call boy service. Spence's entire mansion was covered with two way mirrors, hidden microphones and cameras. The White House including President Bush refused to answer questions or discuss the incident. At the same time, another story implicating the President in child abuse was breaking in the heart of the country. The story centered on the failure of the Franklin Community Credit Union in Omaha.

For roughly a decade stories linking Larry King the director of Franklin to child molestation had surfaced in and around the Omaha area. The failure of the Franklin Credit Union began to expose the murky past of King that had been shrouded in fog. Besides being involved in the illegal Iran-Contra scandal, rumors of King's involvement with child abuse came forth. King was one of the rising stars in the Republican Party. He sung the national anthem at the national convention in Dallas. He was known for the lavish parties he held including the one at the famed South Fork Ranch from the TV series Dallas. King held parties around the country including Washington D.C. Always present at these parties were young children of both sexes from King's stable of prostitutes.

For years, rumors had surfaced about child abuse, drugs and King in the Omaha area. King had an ample supply of young boys from Boys Town, others he procured from the streets of Omaha. Police from as far as Kansas City were aware of his activities. Nevertheless, in Omaha King was protected. The chief of police in both Omaha and Des Moines, Iowa were frequent guests at King's parties in Omaha. King had the backing of Omaha's elite behind him including the staunchly conservative local paper. Indeed King wielded enough power to even shut down an investigation by the state attorney general under Democratic Governor Exxon. King even had an ally in the FBI officer in charge of the Omaha office. Moreover, there were abundant rumors that one did not want to incur King's displeasure.Several murders were rumored to have been committed by King to protect his child molestation and drug businesses. In fact, at least fifteen mysterious deaths are connected with the Franklin case. It was clear from the beginning that both the local and federal grand juries were being used as a tool to cover up the child abuse surrounding King and the Franklin case. Likewise, the FBI was part of the cover up. Several of the victims recanted their testimony after being threaten by the FBI. The victims that refused to recant were charged with perjury and sentenced to prison.

Obvious Trolls, or rather Paid Henchman 23.May.2005 07:01

Moonshining

I've been reading this board for quite some time and I find it very predictable that whenever there is any mention of the pedophile activity in the Republican party, the trolls come out in full force.

You can bet that the Republicans will, and have done, anything in their power to discredit this information. They've already spent several decades eliminating anyone who has tried to expose the dirty deeds of a number of high power politicians and they will stoop to anything to stop those of us who make it our crusade to end child abuse.

Has anyone noticed how we're seeing more children disappearing by the hands of convicted pedophiles on the news lately?

Feral go_feral@excite.com

It does have meaning because humans inherently give things meaning. Especially middle-america.

I don't ideologicly believe that slamming people is a fair, upright, political tactic. However I do recognize the reality of affairs in this country. Unfortunatly poster #6 who writes [excuse the repost please]

[people] Running around screaming "Child Molester!" reminds me much of running around screaming "Terrorist!". People seem to hate Bush so much that they'll grasp on to anything to fuel thier hatred.
---

Unfortuantly this tactic WORKS, It works GOOD. [sic]

In fact it's working so F*cking well we are loosing our country and our brethen to it. Middle america really believes the terrorist boogeyman is out to get them. And people honestly believe as well that The republican party is the honest, value honoring group in america. That IS WHY WE ARE LOSING. If we as a community, I believe, have any chance at slowing the direction of the explosion of the world; we MUST confront these realitys and deal with them as they are. NOT AS WE WOULD WISH THEM TO BE.

People will continue to pour out their support to the Bush administration as long as they believe he is rightous. And as long as people continue to pour out support to that administration it will be VERY VERY hard for us to achive any of our goals.

I believe if we wish to start removing support from this toxic administration we have to remove / tarnish it's credibility. After all, they're not going to do it themselves!!

I strongly believe that these are "un-rightous" people. We don't need to resort to slander and lies. We simply need to EXPOSE things for what they are. And people will make up their own minds.

And this includes outing the aggresions these men have commited. Because! Why because?
The republican owned and controlled media isn't going to do it!!

No Shit 24.May.2005 15:50

Jonesy

I was sexually abused as a child and have been in many recovery groups and therefore talked to soooo many people who also were abused. The strange thing is that almost ALL of them were abused by people who were high-ups in local gov't,church or business and most had very authoritarian child-rearing styles. A HUGE percentage were raised in Jehovah's Witness families.I read somewhere(sorry, don't have the source-it was years ago)that Jehovah's Witnesses are the sect with the highest incidence of child sexual abuse IN THE WORLD.This has been born out in my dealings with the 30 or so ex-Witnesses I have known in my lifetime.Every single one of the 30(yes that's 100%)were sexually abused as kids by family or church members and none of these cases ever made it to the legal system.(As an aside,no,I did not meet all of these Witnesses in a sex abuse recovery setting-probably about 1/2.)

Isolation,repression,self-hatred(you dirty sinner you).It works every time.

Nowadays,if I hear someone say they're a Christian,I shudder and try to move to another seat.Christians are the true Satanists. There are no "good" or "real" Christians.Their necrophiliac death cult is breeding hatred, smugness, judgement....the list goes on.

I've always said it and I'll say it again:I'd rather go to Hell than Baptist heaven anytime.

Jonesy,

I can't pretend to fully understand your particular situation, but have known several people from ex-J.W. backgrounds who mention the same experiences.

I also hear 100% what you're saying about today's (late20th-early21st century) fundamentalist 'Christians' and the true, twisted, demented, repressed nature of what they profess and actually do.

(not to mention their utter, total, dependence on American capitalist divorced-from-Mother-Earth, totally ignorant TV-fed and wasteful culture and lifestyle - other than that they're probably just nice but mega-confused human beings . . .)

"Prolife" pedophile GOPsters and their useful fool brood mares 29.Jun.2005 19:46

Lip Service

Catholic churches need to be counter leafletted with the ignored conflict of interest between pedophile and playboy clergy and politicians and "spoilsport" prochoice feminists. "Baby killing" birth control not only deprives pedophiles of fresh altar boys, it also deprives the Newtster of fresh interns and trophy wives. Catholic annulments are epidemic because men can no longer count on frequent childbirth death to free them up. Disfiguring face and breast cancers caused by female fetuses and foul-smelling bladder and bowel tears caused by childbirth are new secret grounds for annulment. How do you think the Newtster got two Catholic annulments to marry Call-Girl-ista Biseck? I also believe he promised to keep the Justice Department off Church pedophile racketeering. Catholic women need to know Paul VI who wrote the illegal Humanae Vitae ban on birth control was a bona fide Nazi war criminal who funded the Croatian Nazi slaughter of 500,000 Christian Orthodox Serb "abortionists" in 1942. If birth control was a sin, why didn't Christ condemn the Jerusalem RU-486 Queen Anne's Lace herb harvested by his followers? Coffee, alcohol, tobacco, ginger, and 450 other plants have similar embryo-expelling properties, yet Catholic officials refuse to tell me why they make no effort to criminalize those products and even flaunt serving them! Catholic women need to say to child-molesting clergy, U.S. soldier-killing Bushes, and wife-dumping Randall Terrys: "Why should we lose our lives, noses, breasts, bladder and bowel control just so you can molest more kids, murder more troops, and annull our marriages? You Nazi creeps deserve a global birth strike by all us scarred, scorned, and swindled women!" Regarding Larry King of the Franklin sex rings, 4 A Closer Look and GCN radio hosts have archived recent interviews with victims. Moreover, paroled King is supposedly up to his old tricks at the RNC in Washington, DC!
P.S. My ex boyfriend ran into Neil Bush at a Bangkok child brothel in the early 1990s!
