Fox news

Although I usually watch Fox news for a few minutes a day, long enough to get the general theme of the day, I couldn't stop watching tonight. There seemed to be an abundance of total lies and total disregard for reporting real news. First up was H. Rivera, his whole theme was murders, kidnappers, and drug dealers, (just like every night it seems) how there everywhere and how terrible they are. How does this guy make a living off of negativity? How bad would the world be if the Geraldo Rivera show was your only news source?
Next, was the Beltway Boys, I actually thought they were going to praise Senator Maxwell for his Social Security plan, they gave him a thumbs up. Then proceeded to totally rip him apart, talking how his plan would further raise taxes for middle and upper-class folks and how raising the social security age was so terrible. They ended with the quote "raising taxes and raising the retirement age isn't gonna help anybody"
WHAT? Won't this help the poor? Won't this help our future workforce, who won't have pay as much money through social security? Won't this help our country's future debt?
What they said next was truly baffling; they were talking about the AFL-CIO numbers declining. They actually said that the reason their numbers have declined is because more people are working at Wal-Mart and these kind of people "don't want unions".
Insanity?
Hmmmmmm... . It seems to me their numbers have declined because almost every business in this country that has a union with retirement payments due, has gone bankrupt, then the owners and CEO's start up another business (with stolen money) and make sure this time, they do it right, "NO UNIONS".
Next was News Watch (yes, they actually have a show critiquing the way, they themselves, give the news.)
On this show I learned a few details on the Fox Empire, it seems they have bought the New York Times and the London Sun. (yes, they now own the biggest newspaper in the UK and the US)
It all fell into place; the Times recently said that they will now be less biased and less liberal. I also realized that this whole Sadam underwear thing was all a plan.
Fox News got the pictures, then gave them to their 2 newspapers, who printed them, then Fox News has something more to talk about, something more to divert the public's attention from what really matters in the world, and Fox makes more advertising dollars from all 3 news sources.
How many more things can Fox buy to further spread their propaganda?
A lot, if they keep doing what they do now, making shitloads of money.
These people must be stopped.

Why hasn't George Soros caught on to this? The guy gives away boatloads of money to bring down republicans, but can't seem to figure out that the only way to really shape people's opinions, to his own, is to have 24 hour communication with the people.
Why can't he start his own network?
News that really matters, along with positive shows/stories and actual local news stations, all around the country.
It would cost a lot less and do a lot more good than what he is currently doing.
Just way I see it.
Time for bed.

"liberal" news channel 22.May.2005 01:53

JHK

Well Al Gore and Phil Donahue were suppose to have started one but I have not heard of anything since..

What we need is a 24 hour alternative news that could be supplimented from news from other countries every other hour and then regional news all with Amy Goodman's blessing. Oh and of course real investigative journalism which is something I think that was sacrificed sometime back.

"did you hear on fox news"

"what is fox?"

"your kidding right, you don't get news from fox?"

"your kidding right, you don't get news from the internet? tv news is watered down, did you know that..."

The more you watch tv news, the less you know.

this is right on. it's all a fucking racket as far as murdoch is concerned. he knows how to play the system to get the money, he knows how to rig up some controversy and watch the advertising revenue spike up, and could give a fuck all about responsible, professional journalism. the entire fox news corporation is a pack of makeup wearing, hair sprayed con men with a gleam in their eye...

what about the "staged" saddam capture from UPI(moon's outfit) 22.May.2005 12:42

watchalookinat

why didn't that make the rounds?

because the military channel did their own, "the capture of saddam" tv special.

Who is telling the truth? UPI or the Military channel?

Neither.

Pay your fair share to support Corporatists

Can someone link to "fox empire bought NYtimes"? I know Ruppert Murdoch owns the Sun, but if this is true I would be even more depressed.
