People are tuning Fox out!

This comes from a business/economics blog -- "bonddad's diary" --

"Fox News Viewership Falls 58% Since Election"

April '05 marks "the sixth consecutive month where FNC declined versus prior month in M-F, primetime P25-54 (every month since Nov '04)," CNN's press release says. The 25-54 demo is coveted by advertisers. One insider called it a "downward spiral." FNC still has more demo viewers than CNN, though (445k vs. 304k in April).

Maybe the American people are smelling the coffee and waking up. Maybe they've finally had enough of the Bush-shit.

Hope some of them are smart enough to tune it all out and check out Indymedia!
Here are FNC's month-by-month weekday primetime averages in the 25-54 demographic:

Oct. 04: 1,074,000 /
Nov. 04: 891,000 /
Dec. 04: 568,000 /
Jan. 05: 564,000 /
Feb. 05: 520,000 /
March 05: 498,000 /
April 05: 445,000

This is a 58% drop in 6 months.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if, in turn,
alternative and less-biased news sources viewership/listenership
is growing, or did those folks just flip back to the usual
suspects, i.e. CNN, MSNBC etc.?

I'll still applaud even if they do turn to CNN 19.May.2005 10:34

Still better than FOX! Even better if they turn to their local Public Broadcasting/Community TV or radio station. I won't take the next step to internet and newspaper, that's just wishful thinking... ;)

Lately the creeps on FAUX NEWS have been attempting to be more "fair & balanced', but it's all just window dressing. They throw in a serious question here and there more than they used to, but it's obvious they're just trying to suck in a larger demographic. The situation merely reflects the current slump in Republican fortunes. From W's poor polls on nearly every issue, to DeLays' Judgement Day, the American populace is rapidly sickening of the BUSH AGENDA in oh-so-many-ways. Billions in missing Iraq Oil $$$. National ID Card via the DMV. On and on with programs that go against the American grain of individual freedom. The Neo-Cons are biting off more than they can chew here. A significant majority of citizens now think the Iraq War WASN'T WORTH IT. Sure, they still think the fighting men over there are brave and fine men, but that all their sacrifices were USELESS AND FUTILE. A lot of people look at the price of a gallon of gas and figure we MUST be losing the war. Well, the American Citizen is certainly losing the war, while Halliburton and Chevron and the Saudi Killer Sheiks and DeLay and Cheney clean up with their buddies on Wall Street. How long did they think the populace would buy all this? This is a nation that left the blood of it's best and brightest on the battlefields of Fascism. Do they really subconsciously desire an Orwellian police state? Betting on the continued support of an awakening population is a suckers bet for the Right Wing Crazy People. Once Americans realize they've been LIED to they can get a little nuts. From Watergate to 911, God(dess) has seen fit to expose the nasty underbelly of the EMPIRE, much to the chagrin of the awful Toads that cringe from Lady Liberty's Light.
