Send Frist photos of your ailments for diagnosis

Senate Majority Leader and noted jackass Bill Frist is an MD, and he says that he can tell by looking at the Schiavo videos that she's not in a persistent vegetative state. His awesome diagnostic powers demand to be tested, and the interweb provides the perfect means to discover their scope.

Send Frist photos of your ailments for diagnosis

Speaking on the Senate floor "more as a physician than as a US senator," Senate Majority Bill Frist, MD, said he believed there was "insufficient information to conclude that Terri Schiavo is in a persistent vegetative state."

Frist apparently used a digital video of Schiavo to determine that the Florida woman who has been fed artificially since she was brain damaged in 1990 might not be in a vegitative state. I think that's against a few ethical standards, but moving on...

Imagine Frist leaves the Senate and takes up medicine again. I can see the ads now.

"Are you sick? Injured? Worried about a medical problem, but can't afford a physician? Well, worry no longer! Because Former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, MD, doesn't even need to see you to make a diagnosis and prescribe care.

I think we should take full advantage of Frist's openness to use technology to craft legislation and make a diagnosis.

So, I'll issue a challenge:

Take a digital picture or video of your medical problem - tennis elbow, acne, runny nose, hemorrhoids, or whatever ails you - and send it to the doctor in charge of the US Senate and your health care.

Everyone, take two minutes and upload your photos to Flickr.com. "Tag" the photo "Frist." If we get critical mass, we'll send everyone's photos to Dean Rosen, the good doctor's Health Care policy director!

wow! this is a BLAST and a half! 25.Mar.2005 20:36

I laughing till I peedled

THANKS FOR THIS...this is great! I'm going to be laughing all night. Thanks again

FRIST is the subject here 26.Mar.2005 16:15

Focus, people!

Frist, a doctor who took the pledge "to do no harm", proudly proclaimed his enthusiasm to shock & awe Iraq two years ago.

More recently, he defended by the Bush Administration's ludicrous abstinence-only sex-ed policies and said on national TV that he agreed with that program's assertion that the AIDS virus can be transmitted via "tears and sweat."

Now he can watch videotape and make a diagnosis. The guy is a quack.

"handicapped rights" ?!??? "murder" ???!??? 26.Mar.2005 21:22

huh?

the poster who called themselves "me",

propagandistically asserts that Terry Schiavo's "special" case is a political left/right (now there's a false dichotomic tipoff to "me"'s motivations . . .) issue,

when *millions* of Americans dealing with identical situations go through the same emotional and moral traumas every day with their own family members -

WITHOUT ANY ATTENTION AT ALL FROM BUSHCO OR US CORPORATE MEDIA ?? WHILE THE REPUBLICANS AMPUTATE VETERANS BENEFITS, SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE-MEDICAID? (I'm not mentioning genocide in Iraq / Afghanistan (fillintheblank)____________________ . . .)

would you be paying the same amount of "righteous case law" and "political" attention to it, "me" if the Christian Zionist Anti-Choicers (to the point where even many Bushites and hardcore rightwing Republicans now think the elites have gone too far this time and should let it, and her, rest in peace), Jeb Bush and the Multibillion Dollar Corporate US Media hadn't been fawning over and covering it 24/7 for the past several weeks like OJ Simpson - The Sequel?

how would YOU, "me" have ever even HEARD of 'Terry Schiavo' if it weren't for NBC/CNN/CBS/FOX/ABC -

blabbed your pious and CLUELESS screed onto Portland Indymedia . . . and to even bring up Stephen Hawking's (he's not and never was in a 'vegetative state') name - making more totally irrelevant and baseless "analogies"?

what a crock of shit.

yes, this poor patient is suffering from a common ailment these days 26.Mar.2005 21:55

Dr. Frist

that happens to people who sit on their asses all day and watch too much FOX TV, or
worst yet they are glued to every word said on CNN...no matter how many repeatings
all day. We are seeing more and more of these sort of patients presenting these
days.

The REMEDY is simple: turn off their TV...then turn on their computer and go to
PIMC for their news...they'll never suffer from "news constipation" again!

Thanks you for allowing me to be of service to you!
