First off, thank you for all the support you have given to our growing community campaign to stop the proposed Wal-Mart superstore. We have collected over 1,000 signatures in our petition drive and we are just getting started. Wal-Mart wants everyone to believe this is a done deal, but it isn't. We have hired the attorney who helped people in Hood River and Medford stop a superstore and we are building our public awareness campaign. It will include all kinds of good information about the local economy, what's being done to create living wage jobs in our community, and what else we can do together to raise wages and improve living standards. with all this work everyone is doing to fight walmart here, and walmart there... why not band together and while trying to stop walmarts locally also try to fight walmart from putting any more stores in *anywhere* in Oregon, unless they can show it is good for the community (which it isn't). We need to get the State to fight our fight for us.
