Exploring Ecofeminism Workshop

Is the degradation of the environment linked to the oppression of women, people of color, and developing countries? Are women closer to nature than men? What are the implications of using terms like "mother earth"? Must environmentalists be feminists? Must feminist be environmentalists?
EXPLORING ECOFEMINISM WORKSHOP

DATE: Saturday April 2, 2005
TIME: 1:00pm to 5:00pm (with optional guided hike in Forest Park afterwards)
PLACE: Northwest Portland TBA

Ecofeminism provides a holistic framework from which to understand the connections between environmental and social justice issues. Spiritual, philosophical, and experiential perspectives are examined from an interdisciplinary perspective-come ready to have fun and learn a ton!

After March 20: $30 professionals/$20 students.

Format: This participatory workshop is built around small group activities and interactive discussions. There is an optional short hike in Forest Park after the workshop. All are welcome.
