Come out on March 14th and join us for a festive day of action to Free the Klamath River from the dams that block many of the Klamath Salmon from returning home. Pacific Power, a subsiiary of Scottish Power (from Scotland) owns all four of these dams and is currently in the 50-year re-licensing pro cess. They are to not only refusing dam removal, but also to even provide fish ladders. The Klamath, Karuk, Modoc, and Yurok tribes, and countless down river communities and fishermen all depend on the Klamath fisheries. However in 2001 over 34,000 fish died in the Klamath River, and every year more fish die on the Klamath due to low flows and warm water. Both of these factors are aggravated by Pacific (Scottish) Power's dams. The Klamath tribes have taken their concerns to Scotland, now is the time for Oregon citizens to take theirs to Pacific Power.
Klamath tribes and community members will be protesting in Sacramento, California for the Day of Action.
We are going straight to Pacific Power front doors.
Help us tell Pacific power that all the creatures in theKlamath watershed need a Free river.
We cannot wait another 50 years!
