Ward Churchill was invited to a discussion at Hamilton College to occur today. The school canceled the event citing "credible threats of violence." Earlier this week, Churchill was forced out of his post at the University of Colorado. The controversy stems from a several year old essay in which Churchill denied that 9/11 victims were truly "innocent" and attempted to explain how disaffected third world peoples felt about the United States.
Hamilton, supposedly a liberal institution, canceled Susan Rosenburg's teaching position. Rosenburg was convicted in the early 80s for her alleged role in Black Liberation Army armed robberies. In 2000, she was pardoned by Pres. Clinton.
