9.11 investigation

History Channel Isn't

The History Channel in league with the 911 commission coverup
Oh Boy. You knew it was coming eventually. As the History Channel reaps huge ratings with their "Conspiracy" series, their true agenda as co-conspirators in the 911 coverup unleashes itself in a new two hour "documentary" about the 911 commission report. What a murky miasma of lame excuses from Lehman, Gorlick & Co. as to why jets flew out to sea instead of to D.C., why Norad, the FAA and the Pentagon messed up due to amazingly coincidental "glitches", mis-communications, and mishaps. If you believe them, the 21st Century's most advanced techno-power has a defense system that is held together by chewing gum. scotch-tape, and well-meaning but bumbling incompetents. They kept repeating that lone video of two "hi-jackers" going through airport metal detectors (Twice!) and still being allowed to board with supposed 'box-cutters'. Where's the airline video of the other 17 'hi-jackers'? Last week the History Channel told us for an hour JFK was , yes, killed by a conspiracy, but it was the MAFIA that was responsible! No mention of how Wise Guys could rig an autopsy at Bethesda Naval Hosptal. Then a few nights back "Conspiracy" had the RFK assasination as a topic. The main gist was that any notion of a "Manchurian Candidate" style reason for Sirhan's actions was not even worth considering. Forget that the Ambassador hotel was riddled with bulletholes, although Sirhan's revolver only held eight shots. Following the "911" show, they presented another hour of half-assed propaganda with a supposed history of Osama Bin Laden. It never even once mentioned the agency that created the Frankenstein to begin with. Hmmmm- The History Channel is a godsend for globalism. Back in the 60's, you only had John Wayne trying to revise history as it occured with his cartoon-like "The Green Berets". Today, with Fox News and the History Channel & CNN, slanted political and social reality can be defined and disseminated instantly and globally, in a pseudo-academic, quasi-official guise that's nearly impossible to resist for the couch potato crowd. The JFK murder wasn't really questioned by the public until the Warren Report was released, and didn't really catch on until the media got involved, culminatng in Oliver Stone's mega-hit movie. The History Channel has done America a great favor by cinematically formalizing the chaotic gobbledygook at the essence of the report. As Ammericans watch and scratch their heads wondering who's really responsible for what on that awful morning, perhaps a wider awareness is being born. Maybe in some not too distant future, "911" will be the title of one of the episodes of "Conspiracy". Only it won't be Osama Bin Hidin' they'll be accusing. But I can't see that far into the future. Can you?

Corporate Ownership 13.Jan.2005 22:00

Scotty B.

Does anyone know who owns the History Channel? I suppose it doesn't really matter, since I'm 99.99% percent sure it's one of the major media corporations, but still...

I really can't stand to watch that channel. It seems like 80% of the television shows are about wars, and 99% of those are all about how great the Americans were in them and how well we did fighting for justice, liberty, and world peace whilst blowing people up with grenades. It's awful. War is stressed way too much when history is taught - what about all the peacetime issues and happenings? Why can't they report on popular struggles like the Haymarket Affair? It would be nice to have a channel that was actually educational....

Here's more:

"NBC is part owner of A&E Networks, with a 26 percent stake in the company, which is jointly owned with Disney and Hearst, both of which own 33 percent of the networks (which also include History Channel, History International, and Biography)."

If only Ralph or Dennis had won instead of Bu$h. 14.Jan.2005 06:21

the truth is like a salad bar, take what you want.

Lets face facts, If Ralph Nader had won in 2000, 9-11 would still have happened pretty much the same way it did. The difference would be it would right-wing nuts writing books and making movies that pander to their audiences showing how Nader's is really related via Lebanon to one of OBL's top lieutenants and there for was in on 9-11.

I'm sure someone could come up with some bullshit about Kucinich as well.

The history channel is guilty of pandering for an audience, just like Micheal Moore, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reily, Al Franken, and Noam Chomsky. They all are peddling their ware to whoever will stick out $20 to buy it.

Believe what you wish, it's a free country.

Only winners need write history 14.Jan.2005 08:13

howard zinn?

Off the subject a bit.....I don't have cable......not that I can't afford it, but I prefer to give the money to kboo rather than trade with the enemy (corporate media).
"History" does tend to be written by the winners, and out of boredom, I watched some of the garbage OPB ran about Lincoln and his corporate war last night. What a steaming pile!
As far as I can figure, lincoln was a railroad lawyer, tool of the most powerful moghuls of the day, and his job was to hold the "country" together so his masters could build their transcontinental railroad. I doubt lincoln had any more regard for his foot soldiers than the neocons of today when it came to servicing the needs of capital.
When the "free press" of the day made it clear how badly the war was going, new rationales needed to be invented to continue the carnage. Tariff issues not important enough to you to invest all your sons in? Hey! Fight for FREEDOM (TM) instead. No wmd's? Well, saddam is a bad man, and we're better off without him......
The important thing here is to maintain THE BIG LIE. The first characteristic of the big lie is that repeated often enough, it becomes truth (why else would npr run thier propaganda at the top of each hour?)The second characteristic of the big lie is that once accepted by the "sheeple," it is then repeated until it becomes history.
I am really grateful to guys Like Zinn, Chomsky, and Larry Gonick for presenting past events in more credible context than my public schooling.
Some people will tell you anything to sell you anything. Other people are morally grounded and will tell you the truth because they know the difference between right and wrong is not measured in dollars. I wouldn't lump Chomsky in the same pile as oreilly limburger & co.

The History Channel is not! 14.Jan.2005 13:04

Concerned about the truth, only about spouting the currant propaganda that is being ordered by our corporate government.

History proves that the truth is not a part of their religion.

Only a tool for them to twist into what ever serves their evil agenda.

Why do you think that they use classified documents?
To hide any information that would air out their dirty laundry!

What about the Saudi connection, by using classified documents they can cover up all the proof that they are responsible for 911.

WASHINGTON -- Evidence of Saudi involvement in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks will not be released to the public in an upcoming congressional report, according to former Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Bob Graham.

This press release was posted on Tuesday, July 15, 2003.

Decision to bar information from congressional report is ripped
by lawyer for Island plaintiffs in $1 trillion suit

WASHINGTON -- Evidence of Saudi involvement in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks will not be released to the public in an upcoming congressional report, according to former Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Bob Graham.

The portion of the House and Senate congressional intelligence committees' report addressing financial and other assistance given Sept. 11 hijackers by foreign governments will remain secret, Graham told CNN yesterday in an interview.

"The chapter that covers all that has been maintained as classified" at the insistence of the White House, said the Florida senator, who is now running for the Democratic presidential nomination. Graham has been a leading critic of war against Iraq and the Bush administration's homeland security policies.

"It will be very shrouded coverage," said Graham, in response to a question on what the report showed about any connections between the Saudi royal family and al-Qaida.

Lawyers handling a $1 trillion lawsuit accusing some Saudis of complicity in the suicide hijackings expressed outrage at the White House's refusal to allow the release of any information that could affect the case.

There are over 4,000 plaintiffs in the lawsuit, including 250 Staten Islanders, all survivors of Sept. 11 victims.

"It is shocking. It's irresponsible," said John D'Amato, whose West Brighton law firm Russo, Scamardella and D'Amato has been coordinating the lawsuit on the Island. "It defeats the whole purpose of the investigation, which was not only to identify the hijackers but where their support was coming from."

Release of the material on the Saudis was "critical to our lawsuit" and "also in the best interest of the country," D'Amato said.

The lawsuit alleges that 200 rich Saudis -- including several members of the royal family, banks and businesses -- gave money to Islamic charities that funneled cash into al-Qaida in recent years.

Graham added that "unless there is a change at the White House between now and the release day of this report, the American people will again be denied access to information [which], in my judgment, they deserve to have."

The report of the congressional panels' yearlong investigation of intelligence agencies and the events of Sept. 11 could be released later this month.

Attorney Jack Cordray of Charleston, S.C., a chief investigator for the plaintiffs, charged that the White House effort to suppress the information was consistent with its record of seeking to protect the Saudis.

"It is not surprising, given the administration's behavior of stonewalling and covering up for the Saudis," said Cordray.

Sources say what is included in the report is the already publicized revelation that some of the charitable contributions made by the wife of Prince Bandar bin Sultan, the Saudi ambassador to the United States, ended up in the pockets of two of the 19 hijackers.

The intelligence committees issued several interim reports and an abbreviated final report last year. They concluded that, although the CIA and FBI missed important clues to the attacks, information they received was not specific enough to have enabled the agencies to stop the attacks.

For the last six months, the committees and the administration have been negotiating how much classified information in the full report should be released to the public.

Prince Saudi Turki al Faisal has a long tradition of friendship with the US government and US Congress members.

One of his friends, Bin Ladens cousin Sheikh Suhail Ibn Mustahil Ibn Salim , by 1979, together with James R. Bath (->) and Khaled bin Mafhuz (->), had become a business partner of former Texas Governor George W. Bush, in the family's Zapata Oil and Arbusto Ltd.

Bin Laden's family had invested in the Carlyle Group (->Blackstone), specializing in buyouts of defense and aerospace companies, in which George Bush Sr. holds the position of Consultant.
According to business magazine Forbes, the father of Khaled bin Mafhuz (->BCCI, ->Harken), who has the 251 fortune of the world, estimated in thousand 900 million dollars, had founded the main Saudi bank, the Commercial National Bank, that created diverse companies in collaboration with the Sico, Swiss society of the Bin Laden Group.
The sister of Mahfouz was married to Osama bin Laden.

In December 2002, it was revealed, that Mahfouz' main business partner Yassin al-Kadi (->) was the secret owner of US-computer company Ptech (->), among their customers are Applied Materials, Booz Allen Hamilton (->), which is run by former CIA director James Woolsey (->), FAA (->), FBI, IBM Global Services, IRS, The MITRE Corporation (->), MetLife, Motorola, NATO, NAVAIR, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Sprint or the US Air Force.

Kadi was accused by the FBI to be a financial supporter of Bin Laden, but put their knowledge on Ptech on hold since October 2001.
The same policy happened to Bin Laden Inc.

Immediately after the US Election in 2000, the intelligence agencies were told to "back off" from investigating the bin Laden family, who was in connection with Saudi Arabia.

The Bin Laden Group, together with Carlyle, held stocks in the BioPharmacy company Bioport (->), which was co-founded by former Bin Laden's business partner Fuad-el Hibri from Intervac LLC (ex-Porton Down, ->DynPort) and Admiral William Crowe (ex-CIA).

El-Hibri once worked as a merger and acquisitions manager for the Rockefeller-linked Citigroup in New York and arranged various deals for the Bin Laden Family, at that time close friends to Saudi Arabia.
Bioport is distributing Anthrax-vaccines with the help of Avant Immunootherapeutics Inc., a contractor of Dynport Vaccine Company LLC, a joint venture between Dyncorp(->) and Porton Down.

Prince Turki Al Faisal had confirmed meetings with the Bin Laden Group and Osama bin Laden himself, several times in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan before he was stripped of his Saudi citizenship in 1994.

In July 1998, as the lawsuit said, Al Faisal met Taliban leaders in Kandahar, Afghanistan and reached agreement on fresh aid from Riyad.

"Prince Turki also promised to provide oil and generous financial assistance to both the Taliban in Afghanistan and Pakistan. After the meeting, 400 new pick-up trucks arrived in Kandahar for the Taliban, still bearing Saudi Arabia license plates.

Ptech
=================
On November 6th, 2002 the FBI raided a Boston-area computer software firm looking for evidence that the company, which does business with key government agencies, might have links to Osama bin Laden's terror network. This company was Ptech from Quincy, Massachusetts.

The investigation was part of a broader Customs-led program known as "Operation Green Quest",

The so called "secret owner", Yassin al-Kadi (->), one of 12 Saudi businessmen accused of funneling millions of dollars to al Qaeda, was well known in investigative circles.
The Washington Post reported later, that public documents filed in Massachusetts showed that Ptech leased much of its office and computer equipment using financing provided by BMI Finance and Investment, a firm that was partly financed by al-Qadi and which shared office space in New Jersey with Kadi International.

BMI was financed by Marzook (a US Designated Terrorist); Yassin Kadi, financier of HAMAS terrorist Mohammad Salah, and two siblings of Osama bin Laden. BMI has developed property in Indianapolis, IN, Baltimore, MD and other locations. The development schemes parallel those of QLI and Golden Marble, Inc. (above)."

I was going to say that it might not be fair to condemn the Saudis just yet because they may have given money to bin Laden's organization indirectly. It may have been well-intentioned charity to Afghhanistan. You know how bin Laden used to like to build roads and parks and stuff there, right? There's just one glaring problem: The Administration policy is to go after anyone who gave to Al Queda whether they MEANT TO OR NOT. So by their own standard, this should be provocation for action. But forget all that noise. They're our friends.

The question is not to condemn Saudi Arabia as a country -with the dubious result to "invade" them.

This might work well into the strategy from PNAC, whose helping hands "scripted" the 15 arab hijackers into the Sep11th plot for just this purpose.

The Question is, in how far Saudi Intelligence and Shadow CIA agents worked together.

One of the answers are in Jeddah and this is where to dig loudest.

It goes without saying (in my book) that one does not condemn another country for the actions of its government. When I say "Saudi Arabia," I mean its government, not its people. It's just that as a lazy American I am not familiar with their ruling elite. It doesn't roll off the tongue the way "Bush Administration" does.

Quick question with a long answer: Why Jeddah?

YES: the History Channel sucks ass BIG TIME 14.Jan.2005 22:22

Snazmo

I was just browzing the Indy website and came across this History Channel posting and I couldn't agree more! To anybody educated in history, this "history channel" is 80% "rah-rah" cheerleading for past wars, with endless accolades for our US military adventures, always glorifying war with typical machismo and bravado. Awful.

Last summer I went to their website and emailed them about how shitty their channel is. My primary complaint is that there is far more history to our world than their myopic endless war documentaries and weapons demos.

Further to the point: cable TV is pretty shitty altogether when you look at all the mediocre shows on the air nowadays. Always very safe, very boring, never any original thought, never any sex--and that friggin' Crocodile hunter (is he on meth?) is always on! Awful! I dumped my Comcast subscription and don't miss it one bit. And one final thing I want to bitch about: Comcast charges you like $50-$110 for cable TV and STILL you have to watch shitloads of ads! You'd think after gouging you so fucking much there would be few, if any ads.

Corporate driven capitalism SUCKS!!!!!

nothing good on cable anymore 16.Jan.2005 10:01

I concur

There are too many commercials and nothing on cable that you can't watch on regular TV or rent from a video store. It's nothing like the early days of cable where you could stumble across some very good independent programming, news, music, or films. Even MTV, VH1, BET, and CBS are owned by the same corporation. I wouldn't sign up if they only charged $5 per month.

Kill your TV 18.Jan.2005 05:51

Jakwriter mountainchip@hotmail.com

The moment you begin expecting truth from your television you're done for. Of course there's a spin, there's money to be made. The television isn't there for your entertainment, it's there to make someone else money. The degree to which on derives entertainment from television is inversely proportional to something good in their mind. Get rid of it, there is no good reason to have one.
