UNO UPDATE: Spyware companies grabbing a Forum at www.godlikeproductions.com conspiracy site?

12/29/04 12:28:03 Spyware companies grabbing a conspiracy site?
As you read the details below, I would hope you can answer one simple question for me. Why? What is the point in spyware company grabbing up a conspiracy board and banning members like nuts?
Does anyone know if anything else like this has happened or know anything about the companies or individuals named here?
I just happened to meet a banned member from a conspiracy site called GodLikeProductions.com.
I didn't get a really detailed background from her but here's what I've got.
Somebody calling himself trinity bought the site and started banning members like nuts after they checked out a possible connection to Godlike.net (which yielded little according to this person because it was proxied in China).
Through means that were not explained, they came up with the name Lucas Gonze as a friend of "trinity" and linked both to lop.com.
I picked up the research there with a quick search for lop.com and Lucas Gonze.
I ended up with a list of sites associated with lop.com, which is a spyware company apparently.
 http://www.freedomlist.com/forum/viewtopic.php...
In this list I find no Lucas Gonze, but I do find the name Jason Lucas connected to both Jason Lucas Fl. and Trinity Acquistions Inc. There is also the name Alex Shamash in there.
According to the link, Trinity Acquisitions bought the GLP conspiracy site, somehow attached spyware even to the emoticons, and started banning anyone who mentions spyware or the like. I couldn't get in- apparently by dumb luck my IP is banned from GLP although I have never been a member or even visitor.
Complete list of businesses named.

Fla Internet Marketing Inc (Jason Lucas Florida)

Secure Software Inc. (Alex Shamash and Jason Lucas..Florida)

12/29/04 12:29:49 March, 2004—-a casual internet user while searching for something completely unrelated chances upon the godlikeproductions site. He takes offense at some of the material and reports it anonymously to the ADL. The ADL is and has always been, used as an intelligence OP. No action is taken.
—-a few weeks later, just out of curiousity, this same person visits the site again. He finds equally offensive material and reports it to the ADL. Thinking this is a second complaint rather than ANOTHER complaint from the same person, an ADL employee passes the information up the ladder.
April, 2004—-a single person is assigned to monitor the site via a conventional connection and browser. This is Mole 1. Nothing intrusive, no logging of any kind, mainly just watching, with an occasional reply to an offending thread to try and 'feel' out the poster.
—-number of offending posts increases. Mole 1 relates this to his superior and the information reaches a high level at the ADL, then going beyond the members of that particular organization. A GeneSys CONTROLER flags the godlikeproductions site as a "Target Cell"(TC). This is the first flag designation. The next is "Potential Enemy Cell"(PEC), and the next is "Actionable Cell"(AC).
May, 2004—-the GeneSys system targets the godlikeproductions site with non-intrusive monitoring. This is end point logging only.
—-a second individual is assigned to register at the site, post regularly in an amenable, non-threatning manner, and if possible to electronically befriend those running the site. He will eventually succeed in being given a position of some control over the site. This is Mole 2.
June, 2004—-several posts accusing well known persons of sexual deviances appear on the site. This is unwelcome as the volume of traffic on the site is on the increase. The flag on the godlikeproductions site is raised to (PEC). GeneSys directs sporadic, intrusive probes at some visitors to the site.
—-one post is made relating to a particular intelligence agency and 9/11. Too close. The godlikeproductions site is flagged as (AC). Several courses of action are begun, but, since no violence or overt provocation is seen being planned or carried out, just the potential for a measure of subversion, this is given a very low priority. Full and continuous electronic monitoring of the site is not undertaken.
—-two individuals are tasked to 'spam' the site in order to push posts off the first page and to discourage users.
—-an ongoing effort is begun to legally acquire the site.
July, 2004—-GeneSys begins sporadic DOS attacks.
August, 2004—-anonymous threats and complaints are directed towards ISCG.
October, 2004—-two individuals visit the ISCG offices and request that the site be removed.
November, 2004—-host server ISCG removes the godlikeproductions site.
—-the GeneSys system begins intrusive monitoring of the 'new' godlikeproductions site. This results in sluggish connections for its users.
—-spam posting is increased.
December, 2004—-the godlikeproductions site is legally acquired. The goal is the dispersal of its users.
—-Mole 2 remains active.

The GeneSys system is not just a sofware program. It is a 'pattern' of interconnectivity between routing networks. It pervades all major routing networks. When a new component is added to a network, it must be compatible with the pattern or the new component will not function 'properly', in this way the system is self-replicating.
Left alone, GeneSys is simply a self-monitoring system. But for the very few who 'see' the pattern and know how to use it, it can be used to perform specific tasks when given the right commands. These commands may originate from ANY terminal, even a home PC. Once a command is introduced into the system, no matter the source of the originating component, that command is then spread not only to every component of the originating network, but to all connecting networks and to all of their components. In this way, evey component of the entire communications infrastructure can potentially be used to carry out a given command if it falls within the parameters of the component's inherent capabilities.
Until called upon, GeneSys remains relatively benign, performing its self-monitoring functions only. Less than 50 people worldwide know how to fully 'use' the system. Daniel Lewin created it and knew the most about it, and they killed him. In the conspiracy literature it is sometimes called the 'Beast', but this is only a slang term used by some who know of its existence. Nor is the system 'based' at Area 51 as has been suggested. It is not based anywhere. It exists within the entire network. Even removing a specific network from the 'whole' will not secure it, for a 'mini-GeneSys' would still exist within that which was removed.
Many here would want so much to blame the so-called 'neocons' for being the CONTROLERS of this system. But using contemporary political terminology, those who control it are actually on the opposite side of the political spectrum. The neocons are just one tentacle of many, one that seems to have wrapped around the eyes of some, blinding them to the other tentacles wrapped around their hands and feet. The CONTROLERS are not FBI, CIA, NSA, or any other 'agency' you may have heard of. They call themselves 'The Sword'.
Why would an obscure web site like godlikeproductions become a target? Initially just by 'chance'. Then, because of two factors. The volume and increasing volume of visitors to the site, and, because of the willingness of some of its users to believe, and to spread the information even further. The fear of a 'critical mass' of dissemination. "Nip it in the bud". See? Most of the adware/spyware companies like C2 Media Ltd. and Akamai are intelligence OPs. Yes they seek a profit, but they are also valuable as selective monitoring agents.
GeneSyS Project: Supervision of Distributed Systems
ABSTRACT: As complexity of distributed engineering, simulation, training and learning systems permanently grows, it
is necessary to have a capability to effectively monitor and supervise remote components of such distributed systems.
For this purpose, solutions suggested in the Generic System Supervision (GeneSyS) project could provide a common
set of supervising agents and middleware to interconnect them. GeneSyS is aimed at developing a new generic
middleware for supervising distributed systems at different levels such as Application, Network, System. An
architecture based on agents and cores was selected to provide this functionality.
GeneSyS version 1 includes the following physical components: - Core: a GeneSyS entity capable of storing information about other GeneSyS components and facilitating service
discovery. - Monitoring agent: a GeneSyS entity capable of measuring and publishing monitoring messages. - Monitoring console: a GeneSyS entity capable of displaying monitoring messages in a human readable form. - Repository: a GeneSyS entity capable of consuming monitoring messages, logging them, retrieving and publishing
the log messages
For GeneSyS version 1, the following general
monitoring purposes agents will be implemented:
System agents for Windows and Linux
workstations, which provide generic information
about CPU load, memory and disk space usage;
Network agent retrieving generic information using
SNMP.
Additionally, for the PDR validation scenario (see
section 3), the following specific agents are being
implemented:
Tomcat servlet engine agent,
EDB (Engineering Data Base) agent,
both for monitoring special distributed PDR application
users' activity.
For all data-producing agents, appropriate console
agents (monitoring data consumers) will be
implemented.
All consoles will be capable to interact with multiple
agents, and, vice versa, all agents will be capable to
interact with multiple consoles.

Many here like the 'Hollywood' intrigue of a good conspiracy theory. It makes for a good story. But to face it as a reality can be intimidating or even frightening. Remember the movie "Conspiracy Theory", the most insidious turned out to be the most real. Remember the words John DeCamp related from former CIA Director William Colby, that there are "forces and events too big, too powerful" to confront. This was Colby's attitude, and he was killed. If you stand up to them, THEY MAY KILL YOU. If you don't stand up to them, then, physically, psychologically, and/or spiritually, THEY WILL KILL YOU.
"Government is not reason; it is not eloquence; it is force! Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master." - George Washington
"Most people, sometime in their lives, stumble across truth. Most jump up, brush themselves off, and hurry on about their business as if nothing had happened."
Winston Churchill
"The individual is handicapped by coming face to face with a conspiracy so monstrous he cannot believe it exists".
J. Edgar Hoover, former head of the FBI
"I never give them hell. I just tell the truth and they think it's
hell." - Harry Truman
Don't walk away.
Find out how Rudi Dekkers and Arne Kruithof came to own the Florida flight schools, where they got the money. This would get the ball rolling. And should it stop, keep pushing it.

Removal using the Adware.IEPlugin Removal Tool
Symantec Security Response has developed a removal tool for Adware.IEPlugin. Use this removal tool first, as it is the easiest way to remove this threat.
The tool can be found here:  http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/FxIeplgn.exe
The current version of the tool will have a digital signature timestamp equivalent to 16/12/2004 02:42 AM PST.
Note: The date and time displayed will be adjusted to your time zone, if your computer is not set to the Pacific time zone.
It has been reported that a computer on which Adware.IEPlugin is installed may also be infected with other expanded threats. Symantec recommends that the following steps be carried out:
1. Apply the Adware.IEPlugin Removal Tool.
2. Update the definitions by starting the Symantec program and running LiveUpdate.
3. Run a full system scan to detect any other expanded threats on the computer.
4. If the scan detects any further expanded threats, check for removal tools at  http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/expanded.threats.tools.list.html.
5. If there are no removal tools for the expanded threats that are detected, follow the manual removal instructions listed in the threat report.

12/29/04 13:02:09 lol, remmy. nice reply
Excuse me for having to largely ignore the computer jargon, your words fall on deaf ears. However, it does not surprise me that spyware companies would try and enter computers in any way possible. Spyware, like most corporate dirty tricks, relies on ignorant prey. They probably figured that forums would be an easy way to make people fall for the trap, then once people realized there was spyware they decided it would be easier to ban them than move on.

I'd avoid GLP from now on 02.Jan.2005 09:11

Skeptic

It seems certain tht GLP is now owned by the same people who are behind C2.LOP.

Now, lop is not, AFAIK, known for "drive-by" spyware installs, unlike some of the other nasties that are out there. Drive-by installs are usually a threat only to people who are dumb enough to use Internet Exploder, with its default settings and without using up-to-date protective software. Nevertheless, there's reason to infer that there is some risk, though a small one.

There's a reason apart from personal risk to stay away from the brand-new GLOP site. Whether or not they're trying to fuck with the computers of visitors, LOP is a spyware maker. As such, any sites they own or sponsor deserve to be boycotted.

Irrespective of the risk 02.Jan.2005 18:06

Skeptic

Web sites which are owned or sponsored by spyware makers- and there's plenty of evidence that this is the current status of GLP- deserve to be boycotted. Visiting them drives up their hit count, which in turn serves their marketing strategy. And that, in turn, funds their dissemination of malware.

Anyway, a lot of the people who made GLP entertaining have made the same decision.

If you really need a fix, quite a few of the old regulars have been hanging out here:

It's not like I'm going to mourn the demise of a site devoted to pseudoscientific crankery and tinfoilhat paranoia, but there's no accounting for taste.
