Something we can do - Important 09.Nov.2004 12:50

--Schmitizen--

OK, this is what we wanted, now we need to email or phone these signers of this letter and tell them, YES - WE SUPPORT YOUR INVESTIGATION - GO GET THEM. I feel strongly that if we are not willing to send and email or call, then most of the posts on this board have been lip service. I know that sounds harsh, but I am afraid that be cause "they" are politicians, you will not offer your support to them to investigate this election fraud.

Will you - they are the ones, not us, who actually can expose and demand an investigation...you can get their information at www.loc.gov.

Remember ---- it's our JOB to fight for justice, and if these guys want to help us fight this, we need to support them and show them HOW MANY people are behind them saying YES. This falls directly in line with the 4 minute democracy thingy.

My letter to the members of Congress 09.Nov.2004 15:40

Here is my letter to the members of Congress who sponsored this call for investigtion:

Dear Representative _ (fill in the blanks):

I wish to express my appreciation and admiration of your courage in
calling for an investigation into election irregularities during the recent
elections in this country. Your actions are extremely timely and important
for the sake of protecting our most fundamental of democratic rights: the
right to have a say in choosing those who exercise political power over the
rest of us.

These rights and the legitimacy of our elected government are being
called into question as never before, amidst shocking evidence of defective,
paperless electronic voting machines that can facilitate fraud without
leaving a trace, and an unprecedented campaign of voter suppression on the
part of officials of the Republican Party that seems to be coordinated and
national in scope.

I hope you will also call for an investigation into the numerous
anomalies that have been observed among reported election results. These
include discrepancies between election returns and exit polling that have
systematically favored the incumbent President. The existence of such
numerous, systematic discrepancies is highly suspicious, and represents prima
facie evidence of fraud that deserves investigation. It is notable that such
highly regarded international elections monitoring experts as the Carter
Center have often used exit polls precisely to detect potential election
fraud.

Another example among many of the highly anomalous and suspicious results
that have been noted during this election: numerous, overwhelmingly
Democratic-registered counties in Florida reported highly unusual, lopsided
victories for the President, contradicting the otherwise mostly historically
uniform congruence of aggregate party affiliation and voting preference. I
suggest that this huge crossover vote in multiple counties in one of the most
hotly contested states -- a state which in 2000 was a notorious scene of
irregular, highly partisan, and arguably criminal conduct by state elections
officials -- is thus also prima facie evidence of fraud. (Please see
 http://www.commondreams.org/views04/1106-30.htm)

I hope you will consider expanding your call for an investigation of the
conduct of these elections to include all the numerous, highly suspicious
results that have been reported, and will also call for the complete counting
of provisional ballots and "spoiled ballots," of which there are more than
enough, if verified as authentic and if voter intent can be determined, to
produce a different result in the recent presidential elections.

As ordinary citizens, more and more of us have started to feel that the
most powerful political institutions of this country, including both media
and elected officials, have utterly abdicated their responsibilities as
stewards of our democratic rights. We are increasingly despairing that our
rights will be protected and our grievances redressed without dramatic
actions by the ordinary citizens to press these points. Thus, it is very
heartening to know that we have allies in Congress in the urgent struggle for
basic democracy in this country.

Sincerely,
etc
