City of Portland rejects Patriotic Law
City of Portland disbands "Joint Terrorist Task Force"
Other cities have passed ordinances rejecting the so-called "patriotic" law. Arcata, CA provides a good model. ( http://www.bordc.org/grassroots)

Another good idea is an ordinance withdrawing participation in the "Joint Terrorist Task Force." The language should explain that the FBI has an abusive history of politically motivated, ineffective "law enforcement" that has not protected citizens, but has instead endangered their civil rights. Extensive evidence could be cited for this, including the recent jury award in California against the FBI on behalf of the Darryl Cherney and the estate of Judi Bari in the 1990 carbombing case (in which the FBI attempted to accuse the victims of "bombing themselves"!  http://www.indybay.org/archives/archive_by_id.php?id=886&category_id=14).

These are good steps that Portland citizens could take to reject the current scofflaw federal government and its reprehensible and unconstitutional policies -- a far more effective and promising strategy than screwy talk about "secession" or fleeing to Canada.
