It's turning out to be a fairly depressing evening. Oregon voters have shown an apparent willingness to write bigotry into the Oregon Constitution. The message: Because you were born the "wrong" way (or, according to some, "chose" to "wrong" partnership) you have no right to the legal protections that come gratus to heterosexual married couples. Screw the kids of gays . . . these thugs only care about unborn fetuses.

In 14 other states, measures banning gay marriage or defining marriage as "between one man and one woman" have passed.

The celebrating Pro 36 people were just interviewed, saying that they figured the tide had been stemmed because "if this measure had gone down, it would have opened the door to all sorts of unions that were unacceptable."

These people would have voted to keep slavery and to prevent women from voting.

And all of the media outlets are cheerleading for Bush, projecting that he is looking "strong" and will win reelection.

Canada, here I come. I felt dissillusioned and crappy when Reagan got a second term; I'll feel even worse this time around if GW pulls off a "victory."

I can't believe 36 passed. This has to be the worst day election ever. Looks like GW is on his way to his FIRST victory.

Let's have a big gay riot!
