OPB Story and Measure 33 lies from Oregon DA

OPB ran a story on Measure 33 this morning, here is some of the misinformation and lies they didn't edit out.
Colin Fodenvenzil reported on Measure 33 this morning. He talked with supporters and advocates then he interviewed the opposition by talking to head of the Oregon District Attorney's Association (Brad Berry?).

The head of the ODAA claimed that if Measure 33 passed, the provisions in the Measure allow sick people to have up to 6Lbs of Marijuana. Then he claimed the federal DEA 6Lbs is enough marijuana for a sick person to smoke 2 joints, 24 hours per day, every day for a year.

Math check = 2 x 24 x 365 = 17,520 joints

Gram check = 28.25 (grams/ounce) x 16 (ounces/LB) x 6 = 2712 grams

2712 grams / 17520 joints = .15 grams / joint or more than 6 joints per gram.

You might get two small joints out of a gram so 2712 grams would supply 5424 small joints = 15 joints per day. For a very ill person this would be less than one joint per waking hour.

THE GOVERNMENT IS AGAIN LIEING ABOUT POT and OPB is an accomplice to report such inaccuracies.

What do you expect from opb? You might as well get your information from fox. If you want real news in the morning, listen to kboo.

YAY YOU! 01.Nov.2004 11:18

some kid

I'm glad somebody was awake in math class, cuz I sure as fuck wasn't. I kept hearing this claim and thinking "hmm, that doesn't sound right." Six pounds is a lot, but I'm sure me and 10 friends could go through that in two weeks, easily. Fuzzy math, is what I believe they call it.

Um, there's no reporter with that name at OPB...are you sure were paying real good attention to the entire story, nuances and all?

Did You Mean ... 02.Nov.2004 10:46

You are complaning about their poor fact checking and math skills, but you can't even get the reporters name correct. You realize how stupid that is, right?

Mabye you should spend less time contradicting reporters and more time editing and fact checking your posts.
