SUPER IMPORTANT BALLOT ISSUE! PLEASE READ! PLEASE COMMENT!

EAST MULTNOMAH SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT

Director, Zone 2, "No candidate filed."

This is a totally write-in scenario!!!! Let's make it a Portland Indymedia decision!!!
There was one old guy who ran for mayor who is a retired auto mechanic who spoke of nothing but the health of the Willamette River. How about this guy?

Or what about Jeff Cropp, the Director of the Portland Chapter of the Green Party?

Hell, we could even write in Ralph Nader! What do you think? The PDXIM community could totally pick this director.

Hey, Ted

Before you let your enthusiasm get the better of yourself, you might want to at least look at the voter's pamphlet or something.

One must be a property owner or manager, of over 10 acres, with certain other necessary criteria, just to qualify to run for the position. Nader doesn't qualify. The others? Probably not, too.

A "Write In" candidate would most likely not be able to meet all of the necessary criteria.

Good try, though!

a possible write-in candidate

I appreciate Ted's support, but I'm not qualified for the position because of the "10 acres restriction" and therefore won't run for it. However, Donald Fontenot, a local environmental activist, sent out this message on behalf of his roommate, who would like your write-in vote for that position:

> Also my housemate is running for the open Soil and Water Conservation seat.
> Please write her in, her name is
> Kendra Kimbirauskas;

Also, please vote for Chris Runyard for the at-large Soil and Water Conservation district position. He's an excellent candidate. I'll post some information about him to the open publishing newswire.
