I saw this over on the news4neighbors site and thought it was a good thing (not perfect, but a good thing and a good start) - This type of campaign has worked well in places like Tucson AZ. Let's spread the word to local businesses and get them involved or ask them to show up at one of this groups next meet and greets that are lists on the website.
Think Local, Buy Local, Be Local. Not a bad idea at all.
"Locally owned, independent businesses are the backbone of the local economy. The Portland Think Local First campaign is designed to draw attention to the benefits of shopping at local merchants and to provide an easy way to identify locally owned businesses via store window decals and display materials incorporating the Think Local First logo."
