The Daily Poetry Movement

The attempt to silence all knowledge- let alone dissent before the debates is most heinous a crime, put together by the sickies Powell son and Dad, and Bush son and dad. Do we have a pattern here? What can you do? Support pirate radio!
Free Radio Santa Cruz was raided by the rogue illegal organization of the FCC,today. The mayor came out to stand silent witness against the illegal behaviors enacted by those who have no care for the American people or the communities in which they live. So here are three different poems/songs for those agents with the same message: FUCK THE FCC!

David Rovics says "The Pirate Radio Song Dedicated to the good people seizing the airwaves throughout the US and the world, but it especially goes out to the folks at Free Radio Santa Cruz."

Pirate Radio Song
David Rovics

This is how it started
It's not hard to understand
From coast to coast they're lying
At a CEO's command
From Nationalist Public Radio
CNN and ABC
Big Brother's spewing propaganda
From the Disinformation Ministry

They say the economy is booming
We hear the homeless beggar's cries
They say we help poor countries
We see bombs falling from the skies
Reality doesn't exist
They're trying to say
But some of us decided
There is another way

(Chorus)
Seize the airwaves
Seize the time
Lying to the people
Is the real crime
When it's all owned by corporations
And theirs is the only word
We will seize the airwaves
Speak freely and be heard

Someone got a transmitter
Started up a station
Then the idea spread
Right across the nation
Like the land and water
The air must be free
So let us shout together
"Fuck the FCC"

(Chorus)

And we'll do it all together
In a grassroots style
Breaking down the fences
Throughout this whole square mile
It's the new Town Meeting
It's the way the news should be
The rulers call it chaos
We say it's democracy

So when you turn on the radio
And you've had it with this shit
From 88 to 107
Makes you want to have a fit
When you listen to the music
And it's all the same pop song
Start up a pirate station
'Cause that's where you belong

(Chorus)

Eric Idle says this:

The FCC Song
Fuck you very much the FCC
Fuck you very much for fining me
Five thousand bucks a fuck
So I'm really out of luck
That's more than Heidi Fleiss was charging me
So fuck you very much the FCC
for proving that free speech just isn't free
Clear Channel's a dear channel
So Howard Stern must go
Attorney General Ashcroft doesn't like strong words and so
He's charging twice as much as all the drugs for Rush Limbaugh
So fuck you all so very much
So fuck you very much, Dear Mr. Bush
For heroically sitting on your tush
For Halliburton, Enron, all the companies who fail
Let's send them a clear signal and stick Martha straight in jail
She's an uppity rich bitch
and at least she isn't male
So fuck you all so very much
So fuck you dickhead Mr. Cheney too
Fuck you and fuck everything you do
Your pacemaker must be a fake
You haven't got a heart
As far as I'm concerned you're just a pasty-faced old fart
And as for Condoleezza she's an intellectual tart
So fuck you all so very much
So fuck you very much, the EPA
For giving all Alaska's oil away
It really is a bummer
When I can't fill my Hummer
The ozone's a nogozone now that Arnold's here to say:
"The nuclear winter games are going to take place in LA"
So fuck you all so very much
So what the planet fails
Let's save the great white males
And fuck you all so very much

Another poem weighs in:

"Fuck The FCC" By Alexander The Poet

Just fuck the FCC,
Those assholes, they suck so fucking much
It is a travesty,
How they can regulate, what we watch!

They drink their nice red wine,
While they scan all the radio shows
They are anxious to fine,
And fire djs, it fucking blows!

They're a bureaucracy,
They claim programs are too indecent
But it's a free country,
Don't like it, then don't watch or listen!

You know what's indecent,
Deciding what's right and wrong for me
Now before you I vent,
"Fuck this bullshit, fuck the FCC!"
