International Caravan for Justice for Women in Juarez and Chihuahua

The International Caravan for Justice for Women in Juarez and Chihuahua will pass through Portland on October 20th on its way to El Paso & Juarez. There it will join four other legs of the Caravan to demand justice in the cases of more than 380 young, murdered women in Juarez since 1994. Learn more at . Portland welcomes the Caravan with a rally at the PSU South Park Blocks at 12:30 pm and then a speakers panel at 7:00 at the Muscicians Union Hall on NE 20th and Sandy. The panel will include Ramona Morales, Juarez resident and mother of disappeared and murdered Elena Morales, Mexico Solidarity Network activist Jessica Marquez, & women representatives of local unions and groups opposed to all forms of violence against women. Also check the October calandar for screenings of the film "Senorita Extraviada," a documentary on the Juarez murders. All events are free of cost, but donations to support the women and costs of the Caravan are welcome.
