David Cobb and the Greens are often accused (mostly by Nader and Counterpunk of getting no press coverage, not campaigning and avoiding swing states. The Green Party goal is to help build the Party, increase the number of local elected officials and remove George Bush and the neo-cons from the White House.

Here's a report from Cobb's recent visit to Wisconsin.

Camejo speaks to 50 23.Sep.2004 15:34

Cobb supporter

Who is running the stronger campaign - Cobb or Nader? Cobb is working hard despite losing a significant portion of the Green Party, who have temporarily bolted to help Nader / Camejo. While cobb spoke to 3,400 while visiting Wisconsin, Camejo spoke to about 50 people in Connecticut.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Ralph Nader's running mate told a college crowd Wednesday night that the country's two-party system is hurting democracy, and he claimed Sen. John Kerry was taking votes away from Nader.

Peter Miguel Camejo, who is running for vice president under Nader as an independent, spoke to about 50 people at Southern Connecticut State University, the New Haven Register reported.

I'm going to assume you are just being disingenuous 23.Sep.2004 15:43

3rd party supporter

Cobb's 3400 was for his entire trip through the state. Cobb has been lucky to get 2 dozen people to show up at any 1 appearance.

Who is running the stronger campaign? My money would be on Nader/Camejo to get more votes than Cobb/LaMarche but we shall see what election day brings.

Who is running the stronger campaign? 29.Sep.2004 17:35

Brian

The issue is who is working harder? Who has more campaign events? Goes to more states? Talks to more people?

Yes, it is obvious the Cobb spoke to 3,400 on his campaign tour while the 50 was a single Camejo event but still. Camejo would need to do 68 similar events to visit the same number. Do Ralph and Peter even do campaign events? They haven't been to Oregon so I really don't know how active they are?

The issue is not votes although I hope we beat Nader and I encourage all Greens to vote Green, not Nader. The Green Party strategy is to work on promoting our issues, our candidates and growing the party. Presidential votes is not one of our primary goals.

Ralph Nader is a famous man. He could draw 500 in Portland when he wasn't running for President. Getting votes is Ralph's only goal because on November 3rd, Nader/Camejo will have created nothing.
