As you probably know, last week I upheld Oregon law and rejected
Ralph Nader's petition to be on Oregon's ballot. This week a judge
ruled that Nader should appear on the ballot. We will appeal this
ruling, but let me be clear: I will never apologize for upholding
the law, and I will never apologize for preventing fraud in our
election system. From the beginning this has never been about Ralph
Nader. It has always been about protecting the integrity of the ballot.
But my opponent and her allies in the right-wing media want to twist
and distort this ruling to their advantage. For the last two days,
Lars Larson and my opponent have been on the radio calling for my
resignation. This is the kind of news manipulation and hyperbole
we've come to expect from the right-wing. But it also shows that
there is oxygen in my opponent's campaign.
The problem I face is that these are complex issues involving
details in the law and policies of fraud-prevention. It is easy for
the Lars Larson's of the world and Kevin Mannix's cronies to twist
and distort it to their advantage. I must be able to get my message
out or they will use this opportunity and exploit it for everything
I need your help, and I need it now.
This is a battle for truth and a battle to protect the integrity of
the ballot. It's a battle we will win! But I cannot do it without
your help. I know many of you have already given to my campaign, but
I am asking again because I need it.
If you can only contribute another $10 or $25, I need your help
today. If you can contribute another $50, $100, or $250, please send

Now is the time. We have 53 days until election day and there is no
room for error.
Thank you for all that you do, and let's win in November.
