NOW With Bill Moyers
Examine the long sequence of intelligence and security failures that preceded the 9/11 attacks.

I'm expecting a better-than-average media coverage from NOW, but nothing revealing or substantial concerning the crucial UnansweredQuestions of 9/11.
Reading their resources, the government account and website links is what's listed.
The only non-official reference on their website is a few organizations founded by family members of 9/11 victims.

This week on NOW:

"9/11: For the Record" addresses a critical question that continues to haunt America's national psyche: how could the most powerful nation on earth have been so utterly unprepared to protect its homeland? On the eve of the third anniversary of 9/11, NOW analyzes the commission report and connects the dots of what happened that day and the warning signs leading up to it. Bill Moyers once again teams up with a long-time colleague, the award-winning producer Sherry Jones, to take a look at what the 9/11 Commission found. Jones, whose credits include, "Watergate Plus 30: Shadow of History," highlights the agonizing close calls, missteps, and outright failures of two administrations and America's intelligence and security agencies in the months and years leading up to 9/11.
It'll just be more "limited hangout"... 10.Sep.2004 15:36

...but what did we expect?

Moyers, Jones, and crew have done an admirable job of "limited hangout" vis a vis government complicity in the events of 9/11.

Will their show, "9/11: For the Record", address any of the disturbing unanswered questions? Nope! But really, should we be surprised? NOPE!!

Below is a partial transcript of a Washington Post chat with Sherry Jones, "NOW"'s producer (full version here:  http://discuss.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/zforum/04/pbs_jones091004.htm).

In the wake of the 9/11 Commission Report, a critical question continues to haunt America's national psyche: how could the most powerful nation on earth have been so utterly unprepared to protect its homeland? This Friday, PBS airs "9/11: For the Record," a one-hour "NOW with Bill Moyers" special analyzing the commission report. The show explores what happened that day and the warning signs leading up to it. On the eve of the third anniversary of 9/11, Moyers teams up with long-time colleague and award-winning producer Sherry Jones to take a second look at what the 9/11 Commission found.

Jones will be online Friday, Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. ET to discuss the special and actions, and possible lack of action, of two successive administrations and America's intelligence and security agencies in the months and years leading up to 9/11.

Submit your questions and comments before or during the show.

[first question]
Anonymous: Having focussed on the 9/11 report so intensely, now that you've completed the program, what do you think are some of the key issues still left unaddressed/unanswered by it?

Sherry Jones: We spent so much time focusing on the report itself that the unanswered questions were something we simply asked toward the end of the process; they are not included in the broadcast.
We did talk to some of the top staff members and ask them that question and it seems lke one big unanswered question is exactly where the financing for the 9/11 terrorist attacks came from.
And another which is more involved -- two of the hijackers who lived in San Diego since Jan. 2000, it's never been determined who greeted them when they landed in California and if there was, and therefore still is, an al Qaeda cell in the U.S. The commission was dissatisfied with what it found on these questions.
[etc., etc., etc. in the same vein]

If any unanswered questions are addressed at all in the show, I believe they will be virtually certain to be relegated to the lunatic fringe. (Can you say "Left gatekeeper"??)

& liked it

For most people, who are not steeped in this material, the show must have come as a revelation. Not all of us read widely and think deeply, and the Moyers show did show Condaleeza Rice as the smirky liar that she is.
The show also pointed the finger right at Bush, and raised plenty of questions about the lack of interest that Bush had in protecting the American people before 9/11, when he had lots and lots of advance warning about coming attacks- including details about using airplanes as a weapon and targetting the twin towers.

Moyers - Must Elect John Kerry Zombie 11.Sep.2004 22:39

repost

The show was a scam.

Moyers left out SO MUCH critical info and tried to shovel it all onto al Queda, incompetence at all levels, the Saudis, and Bushmoron.

He never addressed EVEN THE FAMILIES UNANSWERED QUESTIONS - the standdown, wtc7, the put options, etc., etc. It's clear the agenda is exactly one goal - build on Moore's job to get Kerry elected.

Given that Kerry was the commission member protecting Poppy Bush on the BCCI drugs scam, we're going nowhere fast. Author / journalist Jim Marrs confirmed the below opinion today at a 911 event -

"Yes, Senator Kerry had the "whole enchilada" on the Bush family's illegal conduct along with his cold bottles of Corona at the Red River Grill. But why doesn't he talk about it now? Has he been co-opted? The late Texas Representative Henry Gonzalez often complained how his investigation of Bush and BCCI often ran into road blocks on the Senate side. Was Kerry one of the roadblocks? And if so, why? It is this gnawing feeling that not all is right with Kerry that prevents me from putting a "Kerry 2004" bumper sticker on my car."
