Keep on being scared shitless

Blatant scare tactics from this power mad administration.
When checking Google news last night, I couldn't believe what I was reading. Surely there was a mistake, and 'our vice president' would not stoop this low. But wait...I suddenly remembered... I am getting very tired of being jerked around like this. Here is what I found: (to follow the logic...who was in office on 9/11?)

Cheney ties election result to chance of terror attack
By Jill Lawrence and Richard Benedetto, USA TODAY
The presidential campaign spiked to a new level of rhetorical heat Tuesday when Vice President Cheney warned that a vote for Democrat John Kerry could bring terrorist attacks on the USA.

By Jim Cole, AP

Speaking to supporters in Des Moines, Cheney called it "absolutely essential" that on Election Day voters "make the right choice. Because if we make the wrong choice, then the danger is that we'll get hit again, and we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating."

Cheney's remarks overshadowed accusatory exchanges by Kerry and President Bush over Iraq and drew a response from North Carolina Sen. John Edwards, Kerry's running mate.

"Dick Cheney's scare tactics crossed the line today," he said. Protecting America from "vicious terrorists" is not a partisan issue, and Cheney and Bush ought to know that, Edwards said.

"absolutely essential" that on Election Day voters "make the right choice. Because if we make the wrong choice, then the danger is that we'll get hit again, and we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating."

Since he and the Bush administration was in charge when the
"terrorist attack" occured he must mean that people must vote
for anybody else who wasn't involved.

Does this mean that Cheney is actually telling people to
vote for Kerry?

Yes, that is the sad truth.

To assert that there *will* be attacks if the public chooses the wrong president leaves much unsaid:

1. That to choose Bush is correct, and Kerry is incorrect-- that there will be no attacks if Bush is chosen.
2. That the current administration, and Cheney in particular, have some secret knowledge and control over "the terrorists."
3. That possibly there is a closer connection between the Administration and the Terrorists than most people would admit publicly (but seem to actually believe, if the Zogby poll is a reasonable sample:  http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=855)

This comes close to what defines "unprotected" free speech-- it is not permissible, according to the Supreme Court, to cry "Fire" in a crowded theater.

Police State here we come! See you in the Gulag

It does somewhat sound like there is supposed to be a "money-back guarantee" against further attacks should the Republicans win.

Gulag? Well, if the POTUS were out and Cheney were in charge, and if he were to put Ashcroft in the veep slot. . . it all becomes so interesting.

Side note: KBR may be dropping out of the bidding for further work in Iraq; this after much lobbying to "privatize" the service aspects of the military by Mr. Cheney (a couple of admins back). Who is running this show, anyhow, and why do I get the feeling the price tag just went up?

This sort of madness is not new or original but it is effective on a lazy and gullible public. People who when faced with a lie, say to start a war, do nothing are not a good people. While Cheney and Bush are truly criminals, what of the American people are they really going to try and hide behind "we didn't know". I for one won't let them, nor will the world. At some time in the future America will pay for what the american people have let happen,it won't just be the economic colapse waiting in the wings.

Actually, it sounds to me that he is saying that HE AND BUSH will attack us personally if Kerry is elected, and that's the kind of threat that just "will not stand." No sir, nope, we cannot stand by and allow ourselves to be intimidated as a people and I say we arrest those making these threats RIGHT NOW!!!

oh, and Mr. Veep, go fuck yourself.
