Hizbullah Warns Israel Will Cease to Exist if Al Aqsa is Attacked
Hizbullah has bluntly warned that Israel would cease to exist if Jewish extremists attack Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, Islam's third holiest shrine that houses the Dome of the Rock, the site where Muslims believe The Prophet Mohammed had mounted a winged horse to ascend to heavens and return.
"The Israelis of all shades of thought or political leanings must be made to understand as of now that they will all be held responsible for any harm befalling Al Aqsa if it is attacked by so-called extremist Jews," said Hizbullah's Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in a statement broadcast over Hizbullah's Al Manar TV network in Beirut.
"All Israelis without exception must be on notice as of this moment that Al Aqsa's destruction automatically spells out the removal of the Zionist entity from existence," Nasrallah said. All Arab and Muslim countries should join Hizbullah in addressing this message to Israel, he added.
He was commenting on Israeli Security Minister Tzahi Hanegbi's weekend statement that there was a growing threat of an aerial terrorist attack on Al Aqsa by a potential Jewish extremist, asserting that intelligence assessments confirm the danger.
Hanegbi said Jewish fanatics might attack the mosque to act as "a catalyst for change to the whole political process."
"It will be a catalyst to change the whole map of the Middle East with Israel losing its place on it," retorted Nasrallah.
