of the whole affair was when one protester asked the police to ARREST Dick Cheny, having indicted him for the crimes of perjury to Congress and Manslaughter against Oregon National Guardsmen.

The demonstrator reminded the police of the numerous lies told by "that man", saying that there were no WMD, there were no Chemical weapons on 45 minute standby, there were no unmanned aerial vehicles with bio-weapons, there was no Niger yellow cake uranium, there was no aluminum tubes for ultra-centrifuges and that ther was no al-Q'aida link.

Then an organizer played over the same loudspeaker Martin Luther King's anti-Viatnam speach at the reflecting pond in Washington, D.C.

All of which caused the individual officers in the riot fitted police line all to drop their heads and begin examining their shoes. I only wish that one of them would have had the courage to upuhold the law and protect the citizes by ARRESTING Dick Cheny.

A question and a comment:

QUESTION: Did demonstrators manage to remain outside the Free Speech cage? Photos look like they were not behind wire.

COMMENT: All the cost to get Cheney here, rent the premises, provide security, etc. and all for only 300 people. At first the "take" was reported at $300,000.00 which would have made sense at a $1,000-a-plate, 45 minute long photo-op meal. But this morning the total was reported as $400,000 because apparently a few gulls anted up in order to have their photo taken with the Dickhead.

300 attendees . . . 200 (probably more - that's just what was reported in the Oregonian) protestors . . . doesn't sound like a steller turnout for Dr. Doom.

By the way, in sound bites heard yesterday evening, he made it plain that they were looking for a victory for Republicans and not for the American people.

It was VERY MOVING when the M. L. King speech against the Vietnam war was played during the Cheney protest. It made perfect sense in shameful way.

The nation has learned nothing. Many of the faces and locations have changed, but the essential details have not: mind-boggling numbers of "third-world" dead and dying directly caused by the greedy and murderous nature of the US power elite, along with the no-mind citizen workers that willingly support and die for the big boys and girls' perks and privileges and delusions of grandjure.

Nothing really changes.

We were behind a low temporary fence linked in units. We were on the far side of the hotel parking lot. This location and situation were certainly not as offensive or limiting as what is prepared for the DNC. This is about the only protest pen I've been in, so I can't make other comparisons.

The MLK speech 27.Jul.2004 21:06

was a very good idea

I'd like to see more of this at demonstrations, if possible. Maybe, just maybe one or two or more cops will listen & learn something. And it reminds all of us, many burned out on activism, what we've been working so hard for. thanks for doing that !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe you allowed your constitutional rights to be stripped away like that.

It sounds like your free speech rights were fucked and you enjoyed it.

Insult a Dick? 28.Jul.2004 05:50

Whats so wrong with insulting Dick Cheney? We has already done enough insult to the world and Amerikkka.
The only reason he can get away with all the Halliburton, energy swindling, War profiteering is that the media won't follow up and report the obivious because they are both paid off in the form of advertising ( GE, Boeing etc.) and are afraid of being labeled Anti-Amerikkkan by the Christian right war machine. Who would Jesus bomb?

when.... 28.Jul.2004 06:44

Humble Earthling....

When are people gonna wake up and realise that Dick(head) is just another fascist egotistic super-manian bent on earth-domination ?

When will they realise that this anti-christ will not stop until it achieves this goal or ends up six feet under.

And finally... when will the Dick(head) realise that Pontious Pilot, Hitler, and numerous other vile inhuman moronic fools tried and failed spectactularly before him :)

I am preparing to expectmore of the same... that much is guaranteed.
