scholarships available: Earth Activist Trainings!

Hi all -- I wanted to let you know that the scholarship deadline is coming up fast for the next Earth Activist Training. Thanks to the incredible generosity of many, many people who have responded to my last appeal, wehave some worktrades and scholarships available for September, and hope to have more by January. But the deadline for scholarships is July 14! Please pass this on to those who might be interested. We give preference to youth, to activists and those working in communities, and to people of color or who add to the diversity of our group. Thanks so much for your support,
We have two trainings scheduled over next several months. We'd love to have you participate. (And please tell your friends...!)

Right now there is plenty of room for regular registrants in both sessions. But previous EATs have sold out, so if you're interested, do it now. Here are the basics:

Starhawk, Penny Livingston-Stark, and Erik Ohlsen teach Earth Activist Training: a two-week intensive that synergizes permaculture, effective activism, nature awareness, and spirituality. Cost: $1100-$1600 sliding scale, loans and worktrade-scholarships available (scholarship deadline July 14). For lots and lots more information, visit www.earthactivisttraining.org. Questions?  mer@starhawk.org or voicemail 707-583-2300, ext 119.

A few details on the next two trainings ...

September 8-22, 2004 scholarship deadline: July 14 registration and tuition deadline: August 14 (late reg possible if there's room) location: The Avalon, a 120-acre off-grid homestead deep in the Cazadero hills of Northern California. Deep forest and golden hills, two creeks, wildlife. This session is a warm-weather, al fresco camp out, bring your own tent. Sumptuous vegetarian/vegan meals with meat options available. We particularly need work-traders with building skills to help put together camp prior to training.

January 16-30, 2005 scholarship deadline: November 20 registration and tuition deadline: December 11 (late reg possible if there's room) location: Black Mountain Preserve, Cazadero: a 286-acre preserve near the Sonoma Coast, Northern California. This is a much more civilized location, with paved roads, semi-private dorms, real beds. Private bedrooms are available at extra cost. Vegetarian/vegan only. A no-smoking facility.

Hope to see you at one or the other of these EATs. You too can learn to create the world you want to live in!
