BOYCOTT UMPQUA BANK!

Roseburg Forest Products continues to cut ancient trees in Cascadia. Allyn Ford is the sole owner of RFP and chairman of the board of directors at Umpqua Bank. Pull your account at Umpqua Bank in protest and tell them you won't support a bank who has anything to do with Roseburg Forest Products because they continue to cut ancient forests.
Due to the fact Roseburg Forest Products has made it clear they are not willing to stop cutting ancient forests in Cascadia, this is a call for a boycott of Umpqua Bank. Some of you might already know there is a direct connection between Allyn Ford, sole owner of Roseburg Forest Products and Umpqua Bank. Past efforts to alert the public to Umpqua Bank's connection to old-growth logging have been successful and many people have pulled their money out of the bank. Since RFP is currently logging ancient trees it is now time to renew efforts to let people know Umpqua Bank is dirty as there is a vast amount of money sitting in that bank that has been aquired by Allyn Ford at the expense of our native forests. Tell anyone you know who has an account at Umpqua Bank about the RFP-Umpqua Bank connection and encourage them to pull their money out of the bank and tell them why.

Roseburg Forest Products, one of the largest purchasers of federal timber sale contracts involving old-growth just this week has made it apparent they will continue to cut ancient forests. Logging has begun at two timber sales in the Diamond Lake District of the Umpqua National Forest, The White Bird Timber Sale and the Jigsaw Timber Sale in the last week. Both sales are contracts awarded to Roseburg Forest Products.

Timber sale monitors working to preserve the two areas report road building has commenced and trees are falling.

White Bird and Jigsaw total 521 acres, including 311 acres of regeneration harvest and 210 acres of thinning. Both sale areas contain massive ancient trees as well as trees of mixed ages. 3000 log truck loads of trees will be removed from the two areas if the projects go ahead as planned(15.5 mmbf).

CONTINUE TO BOYCOTT UMPQUA BANK! ALLYN FORD IS A DIRTY BIRD WHO REFUSES TO STOP CUTTING OUR ANCIENT FORESTS-DON'T LET UMPQUA BANK HOLD YOUR MONEY-PULL YOUR ACCOUNT IT'S THE LEAST YOU CAN DO!

I was in the process of closing all my accounts @ Umpqua Bank, but when I found that your orginization was against them, decided to stay with Umpqua. What happens to "Old Growth"? It rots and does no one any good. Those trees make beautiful homes, to give us shelter. Bruce Reed

"What happens to 'Old Growth?'" As it rots, it creates habitat ("beautiful homes") for myriad creatures. Far from doing "no on any good," it is a vital part of a healthy forest eco system, slowly releasing nutrients back into the forest as well as slows erosion of the topsoil. There are many alternatives to Old Growth logging that can "give us shelter," but mudlsides and and comprimised habitat are a bad alternative to sparing what's left of the already decimated forest systems. Don't you think, Bruce?
