Viillage Voice Censors Theater Reviewer's Call For "Extermination" Of Republicans!

Michael Finegold called in a theater review in the Village Voice for the "extermination" of Republicans.
The wimps at the Voice have pulled any reference to the article from their web page, but you can still read it.
Michael Finegold stated in a theater review:

"Republicans don't believe in the imagination, partly because so few of them have one, but mostly because it gets in the way of their chosen work, which is to destroy the human race and the planet. Human beings, who have imaginations, can see a recipe for disaster in the making; Republicans, whose goal in life is to profit from disaster and who don't give a hoot about human beings, either can't or won't. Which is why I personally think they should be exterminated before they cause any more harm."

The Villiage Voice has now censored Finegold's review - there is no reference to it on its website.

However the original review is still at:

Sounds like the print issue of the Village Voice will be a collector's item...
Um, did you check the date? 05.Jun.2004 20:23

Average Joe

I'm not sure why Feingold wants to appear to be a sort of left-wing Ann Coulter with his extermination comment. Perhaps this particular piece will be remembered more for that than anything he said about the play.

If you expect to run out to the nearest newsstand carrying out of town papers to scoop up what the poster called a possible collector's item, you'll be disappointed. This review appeared in late January 2004, over four months ago.

This brings up the question: Did the Voice "censor" the column, or were they simply cutting back on mention of an old review? As our poster points out, you can still read the original review on the site.
