STARBUCKS OPENS DESPITE VANDALISM; BENEFITS LOCAL EFFORTS.
Early Wednesday, May 5th, a Molotov Cocktail was thrown at the Starbucks building at 20th & Division. Property damage was limited to broken windows. Hours after being vandalised, the new Starbucks opened their doors to the community, hosting a Friends & Family Benefit for the Friends of Ladd's Addition Gardens (FLAG) providing free drinks and pastries to all visitors. FLAG is the all-volunteer non-profit that advocates for and helps to care for the Center Circle Park and four rose gardens in the historic Ladd's Addition. Starbucks donated $1,000.00 to help them in their work. FLAG launches its rose pruning season this weekend. See story below."

The rest of the news letter celebrates New Seasons and Burgerville too, so it's no suprise they'd take embrace Starbucks.
However, use of words like "under seige" and equating broken windows with "violence" is naive at best, and inflammatory at worst...
You can contact the editor at the email address above that she's provided to share your own thoughts on armed guards vs. vandalism...
(geez, at least the gun could be replaced with pepper spray...har)
