Another sad election in Portland (as far as turnout goes). Now if Starbucks, Tre Arrow, and ChemTrails had been on the ballot would more people have burned the few calories it takes to fill out a ballot and drop it off?
you really think 19.May.2004 11:20

that it was the people on IMC that weren't voting?
You seriously believe that?

Yes & No 19.May.2004 12:25

Yes and no, it was just a general rant about people not voting - that happened to be published on indymedia and therefore took that angle. No, I'm sure the 44% of people who did vote that the ratio would hold true or even be higher (65-75% guess?) among those who read this site. But yes I do think some people who read this site did not vote.

My point is the people who have an interest in a specific injustice or issue (chemtrails, starbucks...whatever) need to get that concern into the civic discussion of the city, county, and metro region.

202K too small a number 19.May.2004 14:30

the devil you know

What about the people who haven't even registered?!? The number of people who don't care enough to vote is far greater than 200 thou.
