Kucinich May Day 2004 Appearance in Portland

Here are a few pictures from Dennis Kucinich's May Day appearance in Portland
Here are a few pictures from Dennis Kucinich's May Day appearance in Portland. You might notice that I got relatively close to him. Contrast this to having to stand in a cold, muddy field two blocks from where Cheney held court this winter.

Kucinich is a genuine progressive & deserves every progressive vote in the primary. Do it, Oregon!

here's a couple of great articles about Dennis for anyone interested...

"That phrase "presumptive nominee' sounds like an affliction," grouses Kucinich, who became the youngest big-city mayor in U.S. history when he was elected at 31 to lead Cleveland in 1977. "Only a fool presumes anything where the outcome is uncertain. Kerry may well end up with the party's nomination, but I don't see that written in stone just yet."

The crowd that had gathered was seated comfortably in chairs on the store's second floor when the late-arriving Kucinich announced that there was a woman downstairs in a wheelchair who could not make it to the second floor. "I don't feel comfortable knowing she is down there," he told the audience. Somebody suggested sending strong men or women downstairs to try and carry her upstairs but not long after this Kucinich said the unthinkable: "We may have to move everybody downstairs."
