Portland CommunitReplays Coverage of Perez Shooting Public Inquest

Portland Community Media (PCM), the community media center and cable
channels serving the Portland metropolitan area, will begin airing replays
of the public inquest into the fatal police shooting of James Jahar Perez.
The inquest will replay exclusively on CityNet 30, available to all cable
television subscribers in Multnomah County. It will air in the early
morning hours, following each day's proceedings and as the videotaped
coverage becomes available. Additional repeats will be scheduled once the
inquest is completed. Current play dates are as follows:

Thursday April 29, 2004 1:30 AM - 9:30 AM Channel 30
Friday April 30, 2004 1:30 AM - 11:00 AM Channel 30
Saturday May 1, 2004 1:30 AM - 7:30 AM Channel 30

About 40 witnesses are expected to testify over the next three to four days,
including the Portland Police officers involved in the shooting, Jason Sery
and Sean Macomber. The inquest was scheduled to convene at 9:30 AM on April
28, 2004 in Multnomah County Circuit Courtroom 544. It will be broadcast
live on cable television on Northwest Cable News (49) and on radio on KBOO

Portland Community Media is a nonprofit corporation that provides the
Portland metropolitan community with access to the media, specifically cable
television and new digital technologies, such as Web design and multimedia.
Its mission is to promote broad participation in civic and cultural life by
encouraging effective use and understanding of community media.

PCM cablecasts daily on six local cable television channels: 11, 21, 22,
23, 29 and CityNet 30. Channels 22, 23 and CityNet 30 are available to
cable television subscribers in Multnomah County, while Channel 11 reaches
cable viewers throughout the Portland metropolitan area. CityNet 30 is
often reserved for local government, civic events and public affairs
programming. PCM is funded through a contract with the City of Portland.
