Pacific Green Party Hosts Progressive Candidate Forum

The Portland Metro Pacific Green Party will host a Progressive Candidate Forum on Wednesday, April 28, in the meeting room of the Multnomah Central Library in downtown Portland. This event is open to the public and will provide opportunities for the candidates to state their positions, take questions and mingle informally with the audience. The Portland Metro PGP will also endorse a candidate for Portland City Commissioner position #4 at this forum.
6:00-7:15 p.m. - Candidate forum for Portland City Commissioner position #4 featuring Randy Leonard, Mark Lakeman, Bonny McKnight, Paul Leistner, Scott Smith and Frank Dixon. Leonard Gard has been invited but has not yet confirmed his attendance. Candidates will state their platforms and answer questions on issues related to neighborhood association reform, economic development and affordable housing and homelessness.
7:15-7:30 - Updates on local People's Utility District campaigns.
7:30-8:00 - Metro Council candidate forum with Rex Burkholder (incumbent, District 5) and Robert Liberty (challenger, District 6). The format for this section allows each candidate 5 minutes to present himself and his platform, and then take questions from the audience.
8:00-8:45 - Grassroot progressive candidate forum with Portland Mayoral candidates James Posey, Phil Busse, Jerry Adams, Robert Ted Hinds and Brad Taylor. Tom Potter was invited, but could not attend due to a conflict with a previously-scheduled event. The forum will also include Portland City Commissioner position #1 candidate Brian Smith. The format for this section allows each candidate 5 minutes to present himself and his platform, and then take questions from the audience.
