KOIN 6 Falsely States Deonte Keller's Name Mentioned Today, Broadcast Breaks Off

on KOIN 6 news,

there is a complete DISINFORMATIONALIST LIE being told on KOIN 6 local news -

CALL, FAX OR E-MAIL KOIN 6 NEWS RIGHT NOW AND TELL THEM TO RETRACT THEIR LIES AND DISINFORMATION
they showed a clip of Deonte Keller's dad being interviewed, saying that he supposedly disapproved of "his son's name being mentioned" at today's Rose City Copwatch demonstration.

contrary to this "report" by KOIN 6,

ABSOLUTELY NO MENTION OF DEONTE KELLER'S NAME WAS MADE BY ANY OF TODAY'S PRE-MARCH SPEAKERS, WHATSOEVER.

right after the 15 sec Keller's dad interview - and just as they were attempting to show copies of flyers for today's demo on-screen,

THE AUDIO OF THE BROADCAST SUDDENLY WENT SILENT.

they cut back to the "on scene" reporter, who uttered an incomplete sentence about "violence at today's demonstration,

then they suddenly cut back to the studio anchorpeople.

PPBCopwatcher

The BIGGEST LIE / DISINFORMATION they committed was to claim that Rose City Copwatch organized today's march, AND that Rose City Copwatch fliers called for violence.

ARISSA was the organization that organized todays March.

ARISSA was the organization that posted fliers calling for violence against the police.

NOT Rose City Copwatch!!!!!!

Retired Officer D. Woodcock

It should come as no great surprise, but of course, my respectful email was completely IGNORED by KOIN 6.

Subject: Request for Retraction of Disinformation

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to express my frustration with your channel's on-going reporting of disinformation surrounding the Perez fliers, and todays march.

On the 6pm news, your reporters claimed that today's march was organized by Rose City Copwatch, when in fact todays event was organized by group ARISSA. They also claimed that Rose City Copwatch fliers called for violence against the police. Again, all fliers calling for violence originate from the group ARISSA.

And in an earlier broadcast, your station claimed that Rose City Copwatch distributed fliers containing the officers home addresses.

All of these claims are blatantly false.

I respectfully request that your station retract this disinformation, and report the news accurately.

Sincerely,

Medically Retired Police Officer
Damon Woodcock

p

In the letter above it says that Arissa put out fliers calling for violence. This is untrue- I would like for you to tell me what exactly Arissa has said to make you think the organization has called for violence. It has called for an end to police brutality, and an end to a system that perpetuates it.

Thanks.
