9.11 investigation

Could it be?

Could it be that Bush is ratcheting up the tension in Iraq to distract from the revelations coming out in the media abou this foreknowledge of 9/11??
Could it be that Bush is ratcheting up the tension in Iraq to distract from the revelations coming out in the media abou this foreknowledge of 9/11?? Bremer was absolutely inflexible and eager to stir shit up according to several reports (e.g., Naomi Klein) from before the uprising.

Seems like their usual mode of operation: Clinton hits Afghanistan and Sudan with tomahawks to distract from Lewinsky, etc.
don't think TOO much 15.Apr.2004 06:41

your thinking doesn't make much sense - for Bush, or anyone else.

the 9-11 commission (formed after great initial resistance) is already playing his song - commission Chair Thomas Kean has oil industry and bin Laden family ties. In their report - among other things - they are already considering the creation of a new domestic spy agency.

Iraq - how exactly would Bush & Co. "conspire" to organize a widespread popular uprising (which if you haven't noticed, they keep vehemently denying that it is)?

spring planting, though is another matter:

U.S. President Bush convicted by International Criminal Tribunal for Afghanistan

At the 4th and final International Criminal Tribunal for Afghanistan held on March 13 in Tokyo, chief judge Niikura Osamu published the full text of the main sentence he delivered at the 3rd tribunal in December 2003 convicting U.S. President George W. Bush of crimes against humanity. Bush was found guilty of initiating the war of aggression with attacks on non-combatants, and causing massive displacements in the retaliatory war on Afghanistan.

"Bush was unqualified for the post of president", read the sentence.

Driven to distraction 15.Apr.2004 14:17

,

Maybe he and Sharon needed to distract attention away from the fact that they have just cut the final ties between the State of Israel and the UN. Israel was only allowed into the UN upon the condition that it recognized the Palestinian right of return, as contained in GA Res 194 and 273. When Israel signed the ~historic~ Camp David Accords in 1978, it recognized UN SC Res 242 "in all its parts", which would require Israel to withdraw from all territory captured in 1967. The "Road Map", Oslo, Madrid and every serious peace proposal or process since 1967 has been based on 242. Sharon and his monkey brushed all of that aside last night.
