Po-Po: It Stinks

1. why did the PPD wait until 1:00 p.m. the following day to hold an exclusive, closed-to-the-public news conference?

2. what is the "white substance in a bag" supposedly found in James Perez' mouth, and why wasn't the autopsy team able to identify it?

3. "failure to signal" ?!?  http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2004/03/284539.shtml

4. taser gun used AFTER Perez was already shot in the chest with multiple bullets ?!? BOTH officers firing separate weapons, at different times, at one victim ?!?

5. "no weapon was found in the vehicle."
nothing here is "sound police procedure"  http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2004/03/284554.shtml, and these two officers involved were already sketchy  http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2004/03/284585.shtml to begin with.

does anyone know further details about the 'huge massing of riot geared police' at MLK last night?
The Portland police are natorious for cover-ups 31.Mar.2004 20:34

And they get away with almost every time

Things need to change. All-around. From the inside out, and from the outside in. It seems as if the police are a seperate entity, getting away with everything and anything and protected because they investigate themselves. The FBI is no different, they will most likely exonerate the cop (thanks Foxworth). Grand juries are the same, as they are hand-picked by the DA (thanks Katz).

at what time did they run James Perez' license plate?

*before* they'd even pulled him over for "failure to signal" (implying - if this is truthful - that they hadn't noticed him until he did so)?

were they already following and surveilling his vehicle before that?
