KPOJ - Air America Streaming Audio Here

Garafalo's smile shines through the speakers.
I can't find my radio. Do I even have a radio?

Growing up in Portland means you have a preternatural affection for Perry Mason and you've thrown your radio out the window.

Try streaming directly through your fingertips -

With this kind of broadcasting I don't get a tight chest and a twitching eye. Happy days are here again!

What does this say 31.Mar.2004 10:01

Cicolini

What does the advent of this network say about the state of alternative radio and public radio?

I guess it says alternative and public radio needs help.

ol Al Franken 'doesn't adhere to the conspiracy theories' was a response to a caller's question about certain people ( Wille Brown ) being warned about not flying on the days around 9-11.
Don't get your hopes up on a commercial radio with banks as sponsers.

Can't stand all the commerials 31.Mar.2004 11:33

I tried it for about an hour and had to turn it off. Can't stand all the obnoxious commercials.

This was also an oportunity to bad mouth Nader durring an interview with Gore the bore. Al (the chickenhearted) Gore was stumping for Kerry.
I realy must get that vomitorium built.

Old Culture Dude

I gotta tell ya...

This morning was a beautiful thing.
At precisely 9:15 am I turned on the radio. Here's what I heard.
On KBOO... they were airing a wonderful interview with David Suzuki and the state of the environment and the evils of the current administration and big business. (I was able to hear him speak last night at the Multnomah Arts Center.)
On 101.something... Howard Stern was BLASTING Bush, and Religious Right and the FCC. (Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine that I may actually respect Mr. Stern but I'm starting to.)
And finally on 620AM The O'Franken Factor was speaking the truth.

God, don't you just love springtime?

Stern v. Edwards 31.Mar.2004 14:24

Yah I turned from Bob Edwards yesterday to hear Howard Stern cornering Al Franken on his PR blitz. Got Franken to admit, relcutantly, to snorting coke while working on SNL in the 80's. "Just to stay awake and make sure the other guys didn't snort all the rest, tho."

The T&A radio thing wasn't really working. Like Bob and Ray's "rope tricks on the radio." The "Theater of the Mind."

I think rather than influencing the lefty radios, Air America will influence the righties by proving lefty radio can be funny and make money.

Randi Rhodes just ran Ralph Nadar off the radio - Nadar had to hang up on her to get her caterwaul to cease.

This is going to be fun.

For those who don't use Windows or Media Player-
If you're on a Mac or Linux and are using MPlayer or equivalent non-Microsoft WMP file player, you may find that the link provided above leads to a page that dead-ends with only a graphic being displayed, but no sound.
Try to open location "mms://ccdig.liquidviewer.com/KPOJ" (without the quotes) from within the player.

Hee, heee...
Randi Rhodes just reamed Lars Larson a new asshole...

yeah, nothing better... 31.Mar.2004 19:00

Than listening to liberals bitch. I swear, after 5 minutes of listening I've concluded that the right-wing radio is more in touch with reality. And that's just unbelievably pathetic. Well, maybe I just missed the good stuff huh? I would have liked to hear Palast.

Hey, did you notice? 01.Apr.2004 13:35

Mouseketeer

Do you know who owns the station that is broadcasting this liberal network? CLEAR CHANNEL! Kind of shoots that conspiracy all to smithereens, doesn't it?

I noticed, and I thought about it 01.Apr.2004 15:03

not surprised

It makes perfect sense for ClearChannel to expand into the "liberal" niche. They greatly expand their marketing all the while promoting the same pro-corporate, pro-war agenda. Now they can sell even more ad space and we're left with even more dittoheads than before.

I think being a neo-liberal is going to be the trendy thing to be this year.
