Jimmy Carter Lies Democrats Are Guys.

On Thursday night this week former president Jimmy Carter destroyed all and any credibility he had as an election observer by blaming Ralph Nader for former Vice President Al Gore's loss in his presidential bid in election 2000. The former president was also insulting toward presidential candidate Ralph Nader by telling him to "go back to umpiring softball games or examining the rear end of automobiles, and don't risk costing the Democrats the White House this year as you did four years ago."

Jimmy Carter Lies Democrats Are Guys.

By Lloyd Hart

On Thursday night this week former president Jimmy Carter destroyed all and any credibility he had as an election observer by blaming Ralph Nader for former Vice President Al Gore's loss in his presidential bid in election 2000. The former president was also insulting toward presidential candidate Ralph Nader by telling him to "go back to umpiring softball games or examining the rear end of automobiles, and don't risk costing the Democrats the White House this year as you did four years ago."

If this is Jimmy Carter's real postion on Nader and about what happened in election 2000 then we have to ask what the hell is Jimmy Carter's gang doing in Venezuela right now or has done in all the elections that Jimmy Carter's organization has observed throughout the years past.

Besides the fact 250,000 Democrats willingly voted for Bush in Florida in election 2000, there were close to 140,000 names scrubbed from the voter list by gov. Jeb Bush and Secretary of state Katherine Harris, the majority being African-American, 99% overall being Democrat. There was also the very scary scam of the Republican activists filling out absentee ballots in what was clearly an attempt to stuff the ballot box with false absentee ballots. So what the fricking hell was Jimmy Carter talking about.

While Jimmy Carter was charging the Bush administration with misrepresenting the truth and lying about the link between Saddam Hussein and 9/11 he was lying himself about what happened in Florida and Ralph Nader's role in it.

This is exactly why Ralph Nader is claiming there is very little difference between the two major parties. The example here being Bush lies, Carter lies. No difference between a leading Republican and a leading Democrat. Do I need mentioned the paper thin difference in terms of results from policy implementation in the lives of Americans.

This kind of contradictory behavior on the part of Democrats is replete throughout the entire history of the party as well as in modern history. In fact the Carter administration lied by omission by not telling the American public that the public would be spending their tax dollars on a radical Muslim fundamentalists in Afghanistan so that they could fight the Russian backed left-wing government and after the Russian invasion the occupation that ensued. George Bush might be a fascist lying prick but Jimmy Carter does absolutely no one any service by lying about Ralph Nader.

Democrats need to get over themselves. There are serious reasons why people are not voting in majorities in America let alone for the Democratic Party. They have to do with issues that are not been addressed and the ineffectiveness of the Democratic Party in Congress and the legislatures throughout the land.

After being appointed out of turn in an arrogant power grab by Bill Clinton when it was actually Gore's turn to appoint the chairman of the DNC, chairman Terry McAuliffe has completely given up on winning back the House of Representatives and has shown nothing but cowardice and detachment while Tom DeLay cut up Texas's congressional districts along extreme partisans and racist lines in order to increase Republican dominance in the House in Washington.

Of course DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe does not want to rock the boat because that would expose the racist redistricting on the part of Thomas Finnerin Speaker of the Massachusetts House in the state of Massachusetts where the Democratic National Convention will be hosted in Boston. It took brave minority activists suing the Democratic Party in Massachusetts and a brave federal judge who recently ruled against the Democratic Party's racist redistricting to expose the racism inherent in Massachusetts political structures.

Do I need to mention that the photographs in the nation's newspapers of the event where Carter made his remarks regarding Ralph Nader the Democratic Unity Gala had only men standing on the stage attempting to show Party unity. Democrats my ass!

Differences "paper thin"? Or cutting edge? 26.Mar.2004 21:52

I'm stickin' with the Union

There is more than a "paper thin difference in terms of results from policy implementation in the lives of Americans" between what Bush and continued Republican rule and turning the Republican take-over around by electing Democrats to control the Congress as well as the White House. A lot more than a paper thin difference in terms of jobs, suvival, families, social security and education. The Republicans have just begun to inflict the pain that they plan for the working people of America --- and "dadapop" wants to give them another four years! Critics of the Democrats don't tell us what they propose to do about the enormous problems that are overpowering AND WILL GREATLY DEVASTATE ordinary working Americans --- because those critics don't have any realistic proposals and haven't done the tough organizational work necessary to realize any such programs. Why wasn't Nader working diligently the past four years to build a Green Party alternative to the Democrats? Instead he was, as always, working on his personal resume.

"George Bush might be a fascist lying prick" ? ? Excuse me, but I did not know that it was MIGHT BE. I think it has been fully demonstrated in all of our lives. Why is "dadapop" so dainty and reluctant when it comes to criticizing Bush? As for the "ineffectiveness of the Democratic Party in Congress and the legislatures throughout the land" --- did you ever think that people not voting in their own self-interest but voting whatever paid political advertising tells them, mainly for Republicans, that MIGHT BE the reason for the ineffectiveness not only of the Democratic Party in Congress and the state legislature but also the ineffectiveness of whatever alternative to the Democrats that dadapop doesn't even bother to identify. And blaming the Texas redistricting on the Democrats? Like it wasn't done of, by and for the Republican Party under the direction of the Bush gang? At that point, dadapop becomes just plain pathetic. People working for the election of Republicans can't blame the Democrats for what happens when Republicans take almost total control, as they have over the past four years.

Jimmy Carter has a right to his opinion about Nader. At best, Nader will be irrelevant in this election year, 2004. (And thanks, "dadapop," for the sexist attack on "guys".)

Carter and Venezuela 26.Mar.2004 23:20

Opie

The Jimmy Carter Center can't find anything wrong with the recall process against Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. Despite the forged signatures, and those of children, dead people, Columbians that were bussed in for the occasion, etc.--Carter urges Chavez to "respect the voice of the people" and accept the false signatures.

Yup. Carter was (mostly) a disaster as a president and he's a disaster as a self-appointed, globe-trotting do-gooder.

Nader 26.Mar.2004 23:31

George Bender

The next task is to get Nader on the Oregon ballot. To do that we need to get 1,000 registered voters together in one place at the same time. Join us on April 5, 6 p.m., Roseland Theater, 8 NW 6th Ave. It's free. If you're not already registered to vote you can register there.

He plays the part he has been given, as he always has. He has only been sold to us as a "do-gooder". Beware the power of propaganda.

What I propose to dofor the working class 27.Mar.2004 07:46

Critic of Democrats

People that support Democrats for the working class have no idea what really makes people unemployed. I'll give you a hint of the underlying reason: W-A-L-M-A-R-T. Kerry owns a million in stock in it alongf with many other corporations that have invaded their communities and siphoned their money out. The Green Party supports a community-based economy, one of their ten key values.  http://www.gp.org/. It's only when we create incentives for local businesses and like allow taxes for the corporations for their products and make it more fair for local businesses and stop globalization and have higher tariffs for imported products and make it so companies that exploit the poorer countries will we stop the race to the bottom. I care about HUMANS, not just Americans. They ARE doing what they can to build a third party movement to get someone in the position necessary to get this done. I fail to see how Kerry would really make jobs magically appear. It isn't going to be from rewarding corporations that stay here and don't outsource like Kerry wants when they could pay their workers a fraction of what they would have to pay here. That would have to be one hell of an incentive, costing the government trillions I bet. And yeah, maybe the Congressional Democrats (yeah there other Democrats besides the president that have the power to nor allow Bush's bills not to pass) will finally push for instant runoff voting if they keep FORCING us spoil their elections.

Too bad 27.Mar.2004 08:13

The window dressing called president Carter was so much better than the stark matter called Bush the second that I was going to ignore the comment on his facade but alas I cannot....
