Native Youth Movement of Portland is in solidarity with all NYM chapters.
Native youth from the Grassy Narrows community in Northwestern Ontario, and their allies, have occupied the corporate headquarters of forestry multinational Abitibi-Consolidated in Montreal. The protesters have been inside the offices since approximately 11:30am, and are demanding a face-to-face meeting with Abitibi CEO John Weaver. The protesters are occupying in opposition to the clearcut logging of the traditional lands of Grassy Narrows.
