We are meeting every other Saturday at The Red and Black, on 20th and Division, at 5:00pm. We will be meeting this Saturday, the 31st.
We are different in that so far we intend to do no less than to sue the Portland police if they try to impose free speech zones on us. We do not buy the reasoning that Bush, or whoever, has a need for "secure" zones that supercede The First Amendment.
(We believe that the best way for Bush to be safer, is to not create so many enemies.)
And that UNENCROACHED FREE SPEECH AND ASSEMBLY makes a safer world.
Indymedia and the Portland Peace Camp are meeting at the same time and place, so anyone who would like to get involved in freespeech related issues will have great opportunities.
"The best society, the best human existence, arrives when humans most closely determine the truth, and act on the truth, and separate it from superstition, falsity, or misinformation. And there is no better system for determining the truth than free speech: Testing the validity of an idea in the waters of public discussion and debate." --Dave Rodgers
