Little Beirut's Cafe Revolution

Cafe Revolution coming soon!
On January 17th Portland Anti-Capitalist Action's paper Little Beirut will be celebrating it's 1st year anniversary. Come join us for an evening of food, music, a radical art show and community building. Many local groups will be tabling and/or orally presenting their work to the rest of the community. If you are interested in tabling or if you have any other questions please feel free to contact us. Let's get together and inspire each other, we have our work cut out for us in 2004! Afterall, capitalism can't fall on its own! Come support local groups, get plugged in or just come for good food and tons of radical/revolutionary information.

So negative.... 05.Jan.2004 23:39

So negative, so reactionary. Where does it come from? It is so easy to be against something, when was the last time anyone on this site proposed a solution to anything? When I say solution, I don't mean setting trucks on fire in the National Forest. That just takes the whole intent of social change backwards.

I will give kudos to some of the alternative fuels discussions. There is REAL progress being made at a grass roots level with that particular subject. But thats about it.

As for the rest of you, I think your all way too hung up on 'being cool'. Try 'being useful', its actually rather rewarding. Ask your alternative fules buddies how. They seem to have it going on.

Who's the reactionary? 06.Jan.2004 00:39

How is being anti-capitalist negative, it's no more negative than if someone says they're anti-racist. Is being anti-racist a negative thing? This is meant to be a gathering for people who are opposed to capitalism, they're not going to invite the young Republicans to it. No one said anything about setting logging trucks on fire, so I don't know where you pulled that out of. And if want to see some suggestions for alternatives to capitalism maybe you should come to the event and see them.
