Bush uses the angry attacks ploy to attempt to milk more funds. Notice this was down in Texas.
Bush is laying out what he called in the letter an "optimistic, compassionate conservative philosophy."
Optimism is fine George, but what about some hard truths. There hasn't been a true recovery. You have grandstanded the whole war Twisting facts around to create a fantasy world for the war industry. Besides, there is no such thing as a compassionate conservative. The only thing conservatives are compassionate about is their own bottom line.
He says in this letter that he is not paying much attention to the democratic race, yet he is charging around the countryside begging for donations. He is, in other words, running scared.
In the letter there occurs the following quote:
"In the fund-raising appeal, Bush also pointed to the bitterly contested 2000 presidential election, without mentioning the Florida recount or the Supreme Court decision that ended the stalemate in his favor."
This is symptomatic of the George II methodology. Only give information that supports your side, and pretend you are being fair and balanced.
" Bush has a half-dozen fund raisers planned in the next five weeks; he has already headlined 48 of them."
Isn't that interesting? George is supposed to be busy running the country, instead he is running for President. I guess, since he didn't win last time, he feels he needs to really hustle.
The letter ended by saying that George II would be on vacation.
No one, of course, is surprised by any of this.
