al Qaeda = Mad Cow?

interesting how Homeland Security and the corporate media have

the "terrorism" aspect of the Mad Cow case . . .
instead, they've switched the 'focus' to Canada (!)

certainly the contamination of US beef supply with prions wouldn't be so hard for a "disgruntled Arab" slaughterhouse employee . . .

a lot easier than simultaneously hijacking four airliners and flying them into the WTC and Pentagon,

or obtaining anthrax from Fort Detrick and sending it to major Democratic lawmakers . . .

red suspenders

The livestock industry uses ground up offal (meat "by-products") as cheap protien to mix in animal feed. Probably not such a good idea to create cow-canabilisim like this. Anyways, since "farmer selfish" in po-dunk didn't follow the "shoot shovel and shut-up" rule, instead making a few bucks off his sick animal at the slaughterhouse, now the entire US beef industry is going to be ruined.

It's certianly a wake up call for me, always thought that they used the messed up stuff for pet food and glue.
Never did go to Mcdogfoods but it's going to be a while until I put ground beef in the spegettii sauce around here..
Anyone else concerned about milk and butter, hershey bars, tillimook cheese, etc???

You conspiricy nuts ought to just chill out a while- theres enough obvious and real stuff to get exited about without making up wild fantasies about the government trying to do something like this. More young Americans die practically every day in Bush's latest business venture in the middle east, which has only been sucsessful in recruiting for "al queda". If we stick to the obvious facts, we shouldn't have any problem getting "mainstream America" in line to make a significant change for the better in November. Hopefully the democrats wont put up a draft dodging ski-bum in the race. (remember they have to defeat a draft-dodging drunk-driving cokehead frat-boy)

It does not matter in which country the cow was born. Has anyone noticed how many states "might" have a piece of that cow in their food chain? Doesn't that alone disgust you? Perhaps more of us ought to think about how much we really need meat to survive. I know that all food is in danger of contamination the way it is being processed, but maybe we should be paying more attention. Look at what our 'lack of confidence' is doing to the meat industry. This is a method we still have of making changes. Just stop BUYING and start thinking of ways to live without generating the bucks for the big corporations.

If anyone wants to kill Americans, all they have to do is buy up the tobacco farms and companies. Then they can legally kill 400,000-500,00 Americans every year. And get a government subsidy for doing it!

"You conspiricy nuts ought to just chill out a while- theres enough obvious and real stuff to get exited about without making up wild fantasies about the government trying to do something like this."

--you mean,

"obvious and real stuff " like Iraqi weapons of mass destruction  http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2003/12/276777.shtml
how Saddam was snagged  http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2003/12/276991.shtml and Osama bin Laden  http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2003/11/275555.shtml ? or the Bu$h-Nazi connection  http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2003/12/276816.shtml ? perhaps you were referring to Bu$h's constituency  http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2003/12/276791.shtml ? or those 'cheap-shot' corporate journalists  http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2003/12/276779.shtml ?

we already know about the police state  http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2003/12/277294.shtml
and this "terror" stuff  http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2003/12/277025.shtml is part of the distraction to implement it.

what's FAKE,

and what's "obvious and real" anymore, 'red suspenders'?

You almost got it right, but I think the official scare story on Mad Cow involved "eco-terrorists", not Al-Qaeda. If you're going to spread propagandist nonsense, at least get your plotlines straight.

See, a pathogen threatening our traditional eating habits plays into public fears of internal social decadence, not fear of foreigners. Scary foreigners try to deviously confuse us with their strange clothes and funny talk so they can slip bombs and other forms of explosive into our country; this can be metaphorized as unsanctified sexual penetration, a deep-seated fear at least in Western society.

sounds plausible, except -

why would typical "eco-terrorists" be working at a slaughterhouse??
