Photographs from Occupied Iraq with Joel Preston Smith and Kim Stafford

Tickets are still available for the Tuesday , December 16th lecture and slide show featuring photojournalist Joel Preston Smith.

Smith will be joined by poet Kim Stafford. Stafford recently edited the volume "Every War Has Two Losers: William Stafford on Peace and War". Throughout most of the 20th century, from World War I until his death in 1993, celbrated American Poet William Stafford remained convinced that wars don't work. In his poetry and other writing, he showed that it is crucial to think independently when fanatics act and to speak for reconciliation when nations take sides.

The event begins at 7:00 p.m. in the theater of the Interstate Firehouse Cultural Center at 5340 North Interstate. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for students/seniors, and can be purchased by calling (503) 823-4322
