The Daily Poetry Movement

Oppression by Langston Hughes. Doesn' this just capture the right hue? That feeling of dispair lifted by the thought that our chants, our work, our kernals of hope will tear out the roots of oppression and the organic heirloom seeds of chance will be planted again. Dreams of oppulent organic gardens with sweet companies kept with our dearest bosom buddies! O' sweet angel of global communication guide fast our hands to peaceful actions and words! Lift this oppression and bring peace. Tear loose Bush and all tyrants from the earth! Resist!
Oppression
by Langston Hughes

Now dreams
Are not available
To the dreamers,
Nor songs
To the singers.

In some lands
Dark night
And cold steel
Prevail
But the dream
Will come back,
And the song
Break
Its jail.
