Independence from Petroleum

The petrochemical industry is the reason for the U.S. occupation of Iraq. Plastics, pharmaceuticals, asphalt and other byproducts of petroleum are controlled by the industrial elite. We have other options beside petroleum dependence..
The petrochemical industry drives the current U.S. occupation of Iraq. The Arabian tectonic plate of the Middle East includes Iraq, Iran, Syria and Saudia Arabia. Most of the world's oil is stored under this plate, it is easiest to extract due to compression and folding of the plate between the Asian plate (mountains formed in Afganistan) and spreading African Rift Valley..

This explains why Halliburton oil export corporation is being defended by US troops currently occupying Iraq. Cheney still recieves deferred compensation from Halliburton, and he wants to ensure the Iraqi oil flows uninterrupted..

When the crude oil is extracted it finds its way to refineries in cities like Houston TX, Richmond CA and LA. Here the crude oil is processed into a wide variety of substances, one being gasoline. Asphalt and chemical bases for plastics are other byproducts of crude oil refineries. Another byproduct of crude oil refineries is carcinogenic smoke that is inhaled by low income residents living downwind of these refineries..

..but hey, GW Bush says smog is ok..

The petrochemical industry is the consortium of corporations that benefit from petroleum byproducts. Dow, DuPont and others use petroleum byproducts in the many non-biodegradable plastic products we see everywhere around us (plastic bag catching trees in cities). DuPont belches smoke into the air near Wilmington Delaware, where the DuPont family practically owns the entire state..

The pharmaceutical industry also uses petroleum byproducts in production of all the chemical pills that we need for every imaginary ailment under the sun. Stress related diarrhiac allergy nausea depression OF COURSE needs those hundred dollar horse pills so nobody feels the pain from the cancer tumor developing in their body from exposure to the DuPont/oil refinery smoke that made the pills that they need in the first place..

Pesticide is still used on many Central Valley agribusiness farms, and guess what..

..also a petroleum by product. Not to mention the HUMvee/SUVs driving through the fields of sprayed pesticides on the I-5 wiping the spray drops off their windshield. Hey Arnold, is that you?

Rockefeller (Standard Oil, Esso, Exxon), DuPont and Ford are all profiting from the petroleum. More oil = more asphalt (paved over LA's trolley tracks) = more SUVs off the assembly line (thanks to Hitler those pesky labor union communists were stopped in their tracks). Prescott Bush (Bush's grandfather who funded Nazis), Hitler, GW Bush and Cheney are the political puppets of these and other industries (chemical conglomerate IG Farben in Nazi Germany). Imagine how Ford and Rockefeller would have felt if the assembly line factories in Detroit became unionized?

The centrally controlled petrochemical industry is soon going to collapse and be replaced by something else. The occupation of Iraq with the help of America's nuclear weapons outpost Israel is the industry elites squeezing the last few drops out before the oil economy collapse..

Plant cellulose is a polymer (chain of identical molecules) similar to petrochemical plastic. Plant cellulose can be converted into biodegradable plastic. When this plastic is recycled, it returns to the soil and provides nutrients for a new crop of plants. Hemp is ideal for this as hemp is 77 percent cellulose..

Biodiesel is a fuel based on plants also, can run in any diesel engine, was around since the beginning of cars but could not be controlled for profit like petroleum. This is where the suppression of info by the petrochemical industry comes in..

If any town grows their own crops for biodiesel/biodegradable plastics, the economy is locally controlled, not as easy to regulate by the wealthy elite..

Enter "Reefer Madness" funded by DuPont (petrochemical) and Hearst (timber baron) to make marijuanna/hemp illegal and ensure their profit and control of the market. No local farmers making a profit allowed in the land of the oil thief, home of the petrochemical slave. As long as the wealthy industrialists make a profit, all's well in the land of lies..

Organic farming and medicinal herbs (no, not just THAT one) are another way of preventing cancer and physical ailments. When you eat healthy, you feel healthy. Don't believe the 60 second media hype that all those pharmaceutical pills are helping you. Prevention is still the best medicine..

Grow your own plastic, fuel and food, just watch out for genetic engineered biotech pollen drift. Monsanto is the new face of the shapeshifting industrial corporate elites, they will attempt to control the crops via gene engineering..

I won't speak to his politics, but it's clear that the writer of the above article (moth) knows nothing about geology.

For more info about biodiesel fuel, check out our GoBiodiesel Cooperative in Portland. We're making biodiesel from recycled restaurant waste oil and using it in our diesel cars. We have weekly social gatherings every Friday night at the Lucky Lab Brew Pub, and more formal meetings every other Tuesday night at People's Food Co-op. Every one is welcome.

Some quick facts: Biodiesel can be locally made and has vastly lowered emissions. No major modifications are necessary to use biodiesel. As long as your engine is a diesel, you can use biodiesel. Because biodiesel is derived from plants, it has a complete carbon cycle -- burning biodiesel emits about as much carbon as was absorbed by the plant when it was alive. According to the US Department of Energy, using biodiesel can reduce cancer risks from diesel exhaust by 94%. And it gives a 40% reduction in particulates. Biodiesel's greenhouse gas emissions are 80% less than petro-diesel and 86% less than gasoline vehicles. A biodiesel VW Jetta TDI puts out 3 times FEWER greenhouse gasses than a Toyota Prius hybrid. And best of all, biodiesel is available NOW, as opposed to waiting years or decades for the promise of expensive, inefficient and complex hydrogen vehicles and hydrogen distribution system.

peak

Geo,

yep, oil is clearly not "under the plates", oil is found at most at depths or 10'000 meters or less, after that it's necessarily natural gas. Plate tectonics involves much thicker stuff.

With that said, if there is one (ok, two) things that you should remember from this text and similar, it's that

1) oil has become totally essential to the western world, w/o it it would collapse into molecular ruble.

2) oil production has peaked in 2000, so far, though it looks like 2003 could beat it by about 400'000 barrels/day, and will soon (or is) be in terminal decline.

Meaning,
the writing is on the wall.

PS - bio fuels take more fossil fuels (think Bush, cheney, Exxon, halliburton, Shell, TotalFinaElf...) to grow, harvest, process ..etc, than they yield energetically.
