Come hear first hand accounts from those who were in Cancun protesting the WTO. Hear stories about the marches, the camps, the people and the movement. Two (or more) people who were down there for these events will join us for an evening of discussion, a slideshow, and movement building.
The success developing nations had in causing the negotiations in Cancun to collapse is unforgettable, as is the amount of support that people from around the world expressed. This event will give people an opportunity to hear more about what peole were thinking, some of the tactics used, and how this ties into the overall global justice movement.
For those planning on going to Miami for the FTAA meetings Nov. 17-21, there will be a meeting on Thurs., Oct. 23 @ 6:00pm at 616 E. Burnside (IWW Hall). This will be an opportunity to see who else from Portland is planning on going, share information about the actions planned for that week, and help figure out how to bring the experiences in Miami back to our community and use them to educate others and strengthen the movement.
