WED 8/20 9PM - FILMS FROM SAN FRANCISCO BY THAD POVEY
Thad Povey brings a program of 16mm film from San Francisco for a night
of
found footage, handmade film, and music that's "experimental" only
because
there's not really another word for it. Collaborating with musical
partners
Soul Coughing, Ramona the Pest, Mark Growden and others, his films could
be
music videos from a universe where the music industry doesn't exist.
As the founding member of the Scratch Film Junkies and the Overdub Club,
there will be plenty of optical ammo to dazzle your retina.   $5?*

THU 8/21 9PM - THE QUALIFIED ASTROPATH (movie and songs)
Once again, local writer, director and editor Nicolas James will show
his
wild Virgin Island movie THE QUALIFIED ASTROPATH. This 72 minute movie
has
to be seen to be believed. Shot on no budget and spoken in tongues with
english subtitles...based around an observatory he lived in for 10
months.

definitive cost on these things... ugh!  but it likely going to be in
the $3-6 range, and hey, isnt it worth it to support independent art??

please see our website (  http://theKnow.info ) for more information
and updates about the shows.  thanks everyone!
